   I agree with the speaker that technology decides partially the social customs and ethics. Nevertheless, we can not ignore other factors contributing to society; otherwise, our conclusion about the society can not be objective and specified.
   It is truly because of technology, which advance human culture and enlarge people's horizon, determines social customs and ethics. Advanced technology makes possible the efficiency of almost any fields of human endeavor contributing to society-like economy, communication, productivity, thus making significant influence on forming the customs and values. To manifest this point evidently, here's a case to the point, while the popularity of global networks make it possible for every single person in the world to get information as large and fragmented as possible on the intention to learning and understanding the world, it also arises incredibility and doubt in whether it shown in the internet is actually based on the fact. Since any one can put data and materials on it in various ways without being judged.
Meanwhile, it gradually forms a culture of suspicion among ordinary people to any information or result given by others in the real world. In other words, a kind of social culture reflects its development of technology and its influence.
   Nevertheless, only through doing research on technology, we can't get an all-round view on social habits, ideas and values. The only social matters we can tell from technology is the ideas in a certain field influenced by technology, not the whole social value. Here's a good example that can bolster my reason. With the most common technique mobile phone in almost every country around the world, people's habits of talking varies from person to person. While someone may use mobile phone only for purpose of connecting with friends or colleagues, others might regard their mobile phones as a signal of social standing, and we also can't tell any social values from the person who use mobile phones to play games and listen to music. Only through technology, we can't draw any objective conclusion of the common value and ideas.
   It is also important to consider convention, which reflects the people's ideas and customs, as a considerable cause to form a social ideas and values. No one in the world can have a better life in society without language, since language is not only a tool for people to communicate with each other, but also a surface of people's thinking and analyzing. Let us take a look at the example of people's different act to manners of appointment. While in china, it is acceptable to arrive at the meeting place a little later owing to consideration of some factors can't be predicted, it is recognized as impolite to do so in Japan because of the strict moral code practiced by most of the people should be unconditionally obeyed by every citizen, each kind of which reflects, even totally, different social value in society. Only through deep research in a society's language can we get a comprehensive understanding of society.
   Simply put, technology makes advancement and development of a society, thus influence deeply in people's everyday life, while through conventions of different situations can reflect other surfaces of social customs and ethics that technology can't show directly and clearly.
