To analyze the trends of youth is indeed an efficient method to understand contemporary culture. While I strongly disagree with the speaker for that it is not the most effective way to do so and there are also many other ways to understand comtemporary culture, besides to analyze the trends of youth. In my personal view, a more utilitarian means to comprehend it is to study all the facets which are made up of today's culture.

Admittedly, I concede that today's youth represents the newest and fashionest tendency of contemporary culture. Therefore, to analyze the trend and preference of them is an efficient way to learn today's culture. Youth is a young group of people filled with vigor, aggressiveness, ambitions, and go-aheadism and they always play a role in being a group of people of accepting and absorbing the latest concepts and ideas with rapidity. That is the reason why they are an indispensable part of contemporary culture, and mirror today's society and act as a pioneer in a culture. Consequently, to analyze what youth prefers, favors and what they discredits or even dislikes can effectively learn contemporary culture.

However, youth is not the all and the sole one that constitutes today's culture for the reason that there are a mount of other aspects that can stand for contemporary culture as well. As we know, culture is or cultures are made up of many different parts, such as language, technology, religious beliefs, ways of obtaining food, and so on. These aspects put important influences on people's behaviors, way of lives and they sever as a rule in every corner in a culture. We can learn from the concrete example of technology which always try its best to renew itself. Technology has been varying obviously and makes progress in every period of time, and it acted as the major and vital proportion of contemporary culture in the age of Industry Revolution in the 19th century and in the period of New Information Technology Industry nowadays as well. Analyzing today's technology, therefore, would lead us to master contemporary culture as well as language, religious beliefs,ways of obtaining food and some factors like those.

In addition, it is an effective but not most effective method to understand contemporary culture through analyzing the trends of its youth. Thanks to the fastly-accepting of ideas and pioneering feature of youth, there is a say that they are a symbol of the newest portion of contemporary culture, however, it is also because of rapid-changing characteristics of them, they could not represent the long-term culture. It would mislead present culture if the tendencies of youth are analyzed unilaterally when they are considered as the most effective way to do so. As far as I am concerned, to learn the trends of youth at the same time, to study the differentia of law between nowadays and the past, i.e. the direction of development of law, will be instrumental to understand the culture in a comprehensive way. Besides, analyzing the diversities of human's behavior may also be helpful. Consequently, to get a full scene of contemporary culture we should study every factor which would affect it.

To sum up, youth as the major part as well as other aspects forms contemporary culture which put a profound effect on its members. They sever as a structure of today's culture, much the way a metal framework plays a vital role in building a skyscraper, and without which it will be bound to collapse . Therefore, the most effective way to understand it is to analyze all the factors of contemporary culture.
