When unfolding a daily newspapers, when turning on one’s televisions, when gossiping with friends happily, there are something always draw the common attention of people, with which we are quite familiar nowadays, they are the scandals. No matter where it happens, in the field of politics or the realm of academia, it introduces us to some point few speakers or reformers have ever shown. At the same time a controversial question remains: is scandal beneficial as they can focus our attention on some problems though a special way, which no other one can achieve? As I view it, in some aspects, scandals do offer us with new inspection into things, but I hold still some objections towards this phenomenon.

Scandal, as I supposed, has originated from an era which lacks enough credit, so that the public turns to some other means to meet their need, which is, to know more and manage more. Scandals usually come about in the form of news deriving from some journalists’ report or from people's talks, as they always cover striking bad deeds done by some celebrities like politician or academic expert, they attract the mass. It’s obviously that they have a fundamentally different origin from the ordinary news, which report the speech given by an Organization managers or a well- prepared argument provided by the government. The scandal, On the contrary, mainly aims at revealing the dark facets of the society and some famous people, which may warn the public of some potential crisis’s existing, acknowledge them of hidden facts and urge them to seek for a solution.

Therefore, scandal gains its popularity among the public. But on a second though, can we treat it as a useful way to improve our community? Or can we compare their effect with the work carried on by those speakers or the reformers who search for the public profit? I really have mine doubt on that. It’s true scandal have reflected some hidden problems which people won’t be informed through any other way, but the case might be that some people merely treat the scandal as a pastime in their dull life and let it go after they have made a fuss on it. For instance, some people never care about the politic may be willing to poke his nose into to the bad deeds of a statesman. Even the scandals really arouse people's desire to change the condition, there still exists the need for a leader, or an organizer. Only an agreement cannot settle any problem. This work have to be performed by those individuals who can organize the public and give a practical and efficient settlement to the problem.

On the other hand, people can not relied on the scandal to much. As more and more aspirants and demagogues have noticed the effect of scandals, they may make illegal use out of them.  For instance, when running for the president of USA, the opposite two side, Bush and Goal, both spread some scandals of their rival to the community, which might be waved deliberately, in order to mislead the poll. And such case also happens within the field of science, as some scholars may produce rumor about their competitor so as to win fame or any other trophy.

In a word, the scandal is a typical production in this era, which may has its advantage, but couldn’t be accept as a justifiable thing. The really important work to improve our society must be carried on by those practical people such as speakers or revolutionist. What’s more, we should try our best to eliminate its fault influence.
