------题目------
Because of television and worldwide computer connections, people can now become familiar with a great many places that they have never visited. As a result, tourism will soon become obsolete.
--------------------------------
Rock - climbing,driftin
2.2旅游中的一些当地美食文化品无法通过互联网和电视传播。
2.3同时电视和网络往往会帮助旅游景点做广告advertisement->attract more people
------正文------
Will the tourism soon become obsolete? The speaker claims so, because television and worldwide computer will provide more information to make people familiar with many great places. I partly agree with that the television and computer connection will benefit people in showing them places of interests. However, I do not think the tourism will be in decline, because this reason can only benefit the tourism rather than undermine it.
To begin with, I concede the significant benefit brought by television and worldwide computer communication on tourism. On the one hand, the television and internet can bring people vivid images and sounds of the real places, which is convenient for people who are too far away to access such places. With help of high-technology, the video and pictures can be substantially near to the true. Thus people will feel they are just on the boat of Rhine River or on the peek of Alps Mountain. On the other hand, compared with television and internet, the traditional travels have some disadvantages such like the high cost, the danger outside and so on, while under this circumstance, the travel on television or net have own advantages.
However, I think do not think this benefit will prevent people from outside tourism, which will make the tourism obsolete. There are two reasons to support my point of view as follows.
In the first place, television and internet could not create a totally true environment as in the place of interests, while only traveling itself will bring authentic feelings to the travelers. The aim to travel is not only to see the sceneries but also to enjoy the process of touring. Compared with watching beautiful sights comfortably at home, people would rather make a tough travel experience the emotions brought by travels. Further, there are some travel projects needing the body-experience, one of which is rock-climbing. Although it is a dangerous travel projects to some extent, rock-climbing still attracts a lot of people every year, as many people like challenging themselves. And the television and internet could not provide such kind of travel program for people, making traveling on their own necessary. What is more, tourism will also give people a chance to outside culture themselves. People can taste some delicious foods and celebrate the festivals with local people, to better recognize and understand the culture. All these will not be furnished by television and internet.
In the second place, the television and internet would furnish a space for tourism companies to advertise, which would probably increase the popularity of the places of interests. As we know, the television and internet are not just providing detail information about places of interest, but broadcasting many advertisements every day, many of which are for the tourism companies. Though showing about famous places, the advertisement on television and internet would probably inspire the people’s desire to make a travel. And then these places’ tourism will be more popular and more prosperity. Thus, we can see the influence of television and internet towards tourism is rather propelling and promoting it than undermining and replacing it.
In conclusion, it is true that television and internet will show us a whole view and rather real world. However, they could not replace the tourism at any rate. If there is only visual images without self-experience, the travel will lose its interesting aspects to some extent. In addition, in fact, the television and internet are good methods to popularize the tourism. |
