Issue74:
The most effective way to communicate an idea or value to large groups of people is through the use of images, not language.
1 引入主题提出观点
2 从交流的发展看,语言是高层次的
3 具体讲语言好
4 image的好处
5 总结,两者一起用最好。
For the development of our society, as is known to all, communication self-evidently plays a considerable role in people's daily life. Language and images are no doubt to be the two dominant ways to express ideas. However, when communicate to large groups of people, which is the best way? Is one more overweight than the other one? The speaker contends that the most effective way is through the use of images, language may be the secondary one. When it comes to me, I argue that they should be equal considered, and to some extent, language may be somewhat more available.
Through the evolvement of the way which human beings used to express their idea, complying with the consequence that evolving from inferior to superior, we can see the form of language is later than the images. Thus, from the origin of both ways, language is determined to be better than images. Since we were still the primitives, drew a picture which describe the main feature of the object was the means by which we manifest our ideas. However, such primary method limited the range of thinking and were restrict to seen by only a small group of people, because it takes up great room to draw on the ground or broad, for there were no paper. Due to this inconvenience, the wisdom of people helped to invent the word derived from picture which is, in a way, similar to the profile of the object. And then provide the sound to each word that is the harbinger of the language. From then on, people use language to show what they want to say which is more convenience than draw an image. The development of the language showed us the inherent advantage of language.
This is especially true when comes to express an idea or value to large groups of people. The speech nowadays is a case in point. In order to evoke people's emotion, long and strengthenth words are needed to express the excitement of the speaker himself. Consider, for example, what will be the result if the well-known distinguished long speech made by Martin Luther King were made by a series of images? I think nobody will finger that it will be more outstanding, denying the wonderful speech which have brought about a historical campaign. Without the useful language, such large group of people may already have distracted by something else more touching. So it's obviously that using language is more preeminence in this aspect.
Admittedly, the use of image is also popular and necessary for our lives today. Owing to that something abstract are difficult to form a clear sentence to say, images then can take the place of language, while not completely. When we intend to deploy a strategy, for instance, shown by pictures is the most intellective choice. At the same time, language is of the same important: we cannot say that just a picture before us or companion with some gestures can let everybody understood. So using the two ways together can explicit an idea more thoroughly.
In sum, dissimilar as the speaker contents, language is no less important than the use of images. Either of the two expressive ways has its own benefits under different domain; we cannot generally conclude that one is super than the other. If they can be used cooperatively, the communication of an idea or value to large groups of people will be done the most effective than used them alone. |
