The way people look, dress, and act reveals their attitudes and interests. You can tell much about a society's ideas and values by observing the appearance and behavior of its people.

Though diverse it is, the way people look, dress, and act reveals our attitudes and interests. Since the individuals make up the society like drops in the sea, through the interaction, the separate personal appearance and behavior help mold the social values and ideas. However, in the present world of globalization, it is no longer that easy to judge the hidden social perspectives and its characteristics simply through what its members do and how they do it.

Admittedly, the individuals’ ways of dressing and acting can never be separated from the general social preferences, and the personal appearance and behaviors at times reflect the overall social values. In a large sense, the individuals' appearance and behavior find root in the social preferences and constantly gives the impetus to the overall development of social values.  Each of us grows within a particular society and its values constantly shape personal likings and dislikings. It is natural to feel the impulse of the overall trend of social values through individuals’ appearance and attitudes. Different cultures in history demonstrate this close connection between the two. Take the women’s dressing and ways of acting for instance, in ancient times either in China or in the west, women had to dress carefully and act in accordance with the social conventions. For it was appreciated to be well-bred fair ladies and a great virtue to listen to the husbands instead of bearing too much independent thinking. But in modern times, women can dress and act more freely based on her personal choices.

However, since the modern science and technology has developed so fast and the world is experiencing unprecedented globalization, we cannot always tell a society simply from the appearance and behavior of its members. Today, with the expansion of businesses of the international corporations worldwide, they bring similar products all over the world and advocate the same kinds of ways of thinking.  For instance, in major cities in the world, the youth in various nations eat Mocdonals, drink Cocacola, wear Addidas and watch the same soup opera of Friends. Along with these products, the values of individuality, uniqueness and free style represented in those products are spread to people who consume them. The mass media has contributed much to the diminishing of the particularity of different societies and the appearance and behavior of their people. With its advanced broadcasting facilities and broad coverage, it is easy to bring about similar programs which air the same ideologies to nations all over the world and this inevitably changes the original deep-rooted cultural traditions.

Generally, with the increasing interactions of people in this general trend of globalization, people sometimes find it necessary to adjust their behaviors or even dressing to an international standards, thus by their appearance and ways of dealing with problems we can hardly tell if it is related to the original social ideologies. Today, the international trading, tourism, and researches are flourishing in most nations of the world. To ensure the efficient communication and avoid unnecessary mistakes, the international standards are introduced to be followed by anyone who wishes to accomplish something in that field. This is especially true in the business world, in many occasions people need to dress the western formal suit, employ the internationally-accepted technical terms and even speak the universal language to best convey what they intend to express. Then only through the neat dressing and standardized ways of doing business, there is not much to tell of the values and ideas of a particular society.

Just as the globalization itself, no one can exactly tell whether it benefits or harms the human cultures to find our social values diminished by the globalization. Like it or not, this is the trend. It happens and will continue to develop.

Since the individuals make up the society like drops in the sea, through the interaction, the separate personal appearance and behavior help mold the social values and ideas. 前2句感觉过渡不是很好.However, in the present world of globalization, it is no longer that easy to judge the hidden social perspectives and its characteristics simply through what its members do and how they do it.(从这一句来看，你前面似乎应该交待一下那是traditional society的特点，不然显得有点突兀。)
