The following appeared in a newsletter on nutrition and health.
'Although the multimineral Zorba pill was designed as a simple dietary supplement, a study of first-time ulcer patients who took Zorba suggests that Zorba actually helps prevent ulcers. The study showed that only 25 percent of those ulcer patients who took Zorba under a doctor's direction developed new ulcers, compared to a 75 percent recurrence rate among ulcer patients who did not take Zorba. Clearly, then, Zorba will be highly effective in preventing recurrent ulcers and if health experts inform the general public of this fact, many first-time ulcers can be prevented as well.'

In the argument, the arguer claims that Zorba is highly effective in preventing recurrent ulcers and can decrease the rate of the occurrence of first-time ulcers as well. This conclusion is based on a survey on the difference between the patients who took Zorba under a doctor's direction and the patients who did not. At first glance, it is well-reasoned, however, after close examination I tend to believe that there are at least the following flaws.

Firstly, the argument is undermined by the fact that the arguer failed to mention the sample size. Supposse that the sample sizes of two groups of patients are different, the result of the survey is not creditable. For example, if the group of patients who took Zorba only includes 20 samples, it is obviously not adequate large for a meaningful statistics. As for the other group, its sample size is also important. But even If it is enough large and therefore its statistics itself is meaningful, the whole survey still fails because one of two group' statistics is unmeaning means the comparability between two groups should be doubtable.

Secondly, the arguer also does not take into account the serious of the ulcers. If the severity of the patients who took Zorba is better on the whole than that of the patients who did not, it is entirely possible that the results of two groups are different only because of the difference rather than whether they took Zorba or did not.

Finally, there is no evidence on the background of the patients surveyed. It is well known that the patient' circumstance and nutrition etc. are effect the health condition of patient. If we want to make a comparison with two groups of patients, we should make sure that the patients live the circumstances which do not have significant difference between two groups and accept the same comedy except for Zorba.

In sum, as the arguer claims, Zorba possible has good effect on ulcers. However, we should be provided with the details of the survey before a conclusion on Zorba is reached.

整篇文章不错啊，Firstly 那段的逻辑性最好，secondly and finally这两段的语言论述上有点乱
