In the age of television, reading books is not as important as it once was. People can learn as much by watching television as they can by reading books.

It is true that television as a product of technology has many advantage which books do not, however, for thousands of years, books as an important way through which people used to transform information, have their own value that can not be taken place by television.

Admittedly, in some aspects television is far better than books. At least there are two aspects: First, television can give us a more precise picture of the thing it wants to describe. Television tells people things through pictures one after another but books achieve this through words. What can be more precise than a picture? Simply assume that both television and books want to describe a tree, maybe even thousands of words can not exactly tell readers what every file looks like, but a picture is enough. Second, television can transform much more information easily in a short time.  Carried by electrical signals, the information can transform as fast as light. But books can only be carried by cars, ships, planes and so on. Thus, television does have its advantage.

Furthermore, many functions books can do can also be done by television. What can books do? Usually, books are used to transform information, but this is just one of the functions television can do. For example, people used to teach in schools with books, students learn scientific, history and so on. But nowadays, people can also learn these through television in which the teachers carry on their lessons vividly. On the other hand, many stories in books are also put on television, and sometimes people would prefer to watch these stories in television than read a book. Thus, to some extent television does can perform the actions instead of a book.  

However, books have their own advantage that television is lack. Words are interesting, they not only tell us the world it seems to do, sometimes there seems to be another hidden world waiting for readers to explore. That is the true interesting of books. Fore example, even if television can describe a story more vividly than a book, but it can not show people the hidden ideas of the author exactly, the most effectively way through which people can catch the author's method is reading the words written by the writer. Through the words, readers may find a large space for them to imagine, to feel the feeling of the writer. Thus, books do have their unique advantage.

To sum up, although people feel a lot of convenience through television, if people throw books away, they also throw a mean through which people can contact with the author heart with heart.

Whatever exactly and comprehensively a book describes a leaf in order to impress the reader, it pales when facing the vivid and eye-catching picture on the television.

Fore example, even if television can describe a story more vividly than a book, but it can not show people the hidden ideas of the author exactly, the most effectively way through which people can catch the author's method is reading the words written by the writer. Through the words, readers may find a large space for them to imagine, to feel the feeling of the writer. Thus, books do have their unique advantage. [发现没有，既使你在举例子，也是在泛泛而谈！这是问题根本所在！]
