In our ear characterized by explosive information and keen competition, many people tend to judge things according to their practical use. This is nowhere more true than on the assertion that the study of history is of merit only when it is relevant to our daily lives. As far as I am concerned, however, it is too presumptuous to judge the value of history study to the extent of its relevance to our day-to-day lives. History study, can guide, inform, and inspire us in different ways.

The study of history admonishes people of repeating the same mistakes, no matter how irrelevant that study is to our ordinary lives. When we are reminded of the disastrous consequences of some mistakes, we would be more alert not to commit the same ones. Take the historical study of Chernobyl nuclear accident for example. Although many people share a belief that they are far from nuclear matters, the alarming results of this catastrophe-hundreds of people's lives and millions of economic loss-alert us to any possible violations of safety rules. In not a dissimilar way, the study of the Second World War teaches us one thing, that no war should be justified. What else might be said, most people would agree that the study of history is meaningful and insightful, preventing people repeat the same mistakes.

When it comes to decision-making in realms such as politics and business, people get valuable ideas and methodology by trading to the study of the past. In his martial work, The Art of Strategy, Sun Tze put forth a wit set of principles on how to achieve triumph over opposition. Though written several hundreds years ago, the idea condensed in this precious work apply in modern socio-economic context as well, for wise position and method toward success seldom revolve with time. Anyhow, many countries leaders and corporate executives, western and eastern, have referred to The Art of Strategy to obtain a desired place-be it political, social, or financial- to any relationship. When faced with complexity and dilemma in various circumstances, it is the history study that we can always turn to for light of solutions.

But history benefits us more than that. Countless people in history offer us inspiration when we are faced with difficulties. People who have suffered from serious disease and disability usually find comfort in the experiences of Helen Keller, blind and deaf since she was months old. Almost all her biographies characterize her as a strong willed woman who bravely overcame her handicaps and eventually became an outstanding author and scholar. People continually get inspiration from her legendary life, and look at their sufferings or difficulties directly and bravely.
What is undeniable is that people in real, historical circumstances encourage us more than those in pure fictions. In short, learning about the great people in history endows us courage to face and conquer the difficulties.

In conclusion, it is arbitrary to base the value of history study on the extent of its relevance to our daily lives. More often than not, history warms us to avoid the same mistakes, offers us insight ideas to solutions, and injects courage when we confronted difficulties.

你说的是不是这个意思?

我投机取巧,把历史包括所有过去的人和事,写起来方便些......
孙子的例子,我也看了很多,可是想不到别的了....................................

1、可以。就是研究学术出于学术本身的目的，与所研究的功利后果无关。比如有人研究原子核，不是为了发电，也不是杀人，就是想弄清楚它是怎么回事。

2、再说一遍，题目是历史【研究】， 不是历史。。。
