'Of the two leading real estate firms in our town—Adams Realty and Fitch Realty—Adams is clearly superior. Adams has 40 real estate agents. In contrast, Fitch has 25, many of whom work only part-time. Moreover, Adams' revenue last year was twice as high as that of Fitch, and included home sales that averaged $168,000, compared to Fitch's $144,000. Homes listed with Adams sell faster as well: ten years ago, I listed my home with Fitch and it took more than four months to sell; last year, when I sold another home, I listed it with Adams, and it took only one month. Thus, if you want to sell your home quickly and at a good price, you should use Adams.'

The author on internet real estate discussion site indicate that Adams Realty (AR) is more superior than Fitch Realty (FR), everyone should choose AR to sold home. To support his recommendation, the author cites the following facts about AR: 1. AR has 40 agents, and FR only has 25. 2. FR has agents who work as part-time job, AR hasn't. 3. The revenue of AR was twice as of FR; 4. AR sold his house only in one month while FR sold another in four months. Close scrutiny of each of these facts, however, reveals that
none of them lend credible support to the recommendation.

First, AR has more agents than FR do not necessarily indicate that AR is better than FR. Perhaps, half of the AR agents do not professional in the house-sold area, they have not any contribution to AR, contrarily, all of the FR's agents are better than AR's, and more specific than them. The numerous of agents is in sufficient testify that which one is better, it could only proved that AR is bigger than FR.

Secondly, author point out that parts of FR's agents work only part-time, this is less indicate that AR is Superior than FR. Anyone who else could attest that part-time worker do little than full-time workers, or has less specific knowledge than full-time worker? Maybe the reason why FR has more part-time agents is to save the unnecessary expends and resources of the company. Yet the passage doesn't contain evidence to support this assumption. Lacking such evidence it is equally possible that AR sells more effectively than FR.

Thirdly, AR's revenue was twice as high as FR last year accomplished nothing towards bolstering the recommendation. AR has more than double staff that FR has, to average the revenue to every agents and employees, maybe AR is less than FR, as if it has twice revenue as FR has, it doesn't mean anything.  Moreover, the author fail to consider the spending on resource, employees and daily expenditure that AR may have, so without ruling out other possible conditions for the higher revenue, the author cannot convince me on the basis of them that AR is more success than FR.

Finally, author cites that AR uses less time to sold a house than FR are strongly suspectable because the author neglect one important point that it is apart nearly nine years between the two house sold. The changes during nine years are huge, maybe some new regulations has been carry out these years, purchase house may not as cautiously as nine years before and there also have different between the two houses the author owned, all these other factors may lead the quicker sold house than FR.  Until the author substantiates that there is no other factors that may result the quicker sold of house or there is no change in nine years, I would agree that we should choose AR to sold our houses.

To sum up, the author relies on certain doubtful assumptions that render it unconvincing as it stands. To bolster the recommendation the author should provide clear evidence that AR's agents are more specialize and effective than FR's; there is no changes between nine years; or show more evidence about the finance and average revenue these two realties.
