TOPIC:ISSUE 51 - "Education will be truly effective only when it is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student."

Will education only present its efficiency when it is specifically designed to need the students' individual needs and interests? Facing this complex issue, any extreme response would be improper. And as far as I am concerned, the very issue is a case-by-case problem, and the answers should depend on the condition of the country.

To begin with, it is quite useful to make the definition of the efficiency of education clear. To the part of students who receive education only for a better competence in job hunting, the greatest efficiency of education is to teach the students specialized skills. While, to the part of students who want to get self-improvement in certain field, such as music, literature, etc, the most efficient education is to endow them with mental knowledge, sometimes abstract knowledge, rather than skills. In addition, to the part of students who are ambitious enough to settle their life goal as solving persistent social problems and advancing the living standard of the public.

Accordingly, whether the education should be designed to need the students' individual need and interests equals to how to present the efficiency mentioned above.

In the first place, to the first kind of students, it is quite possible that the greatest efficiency of education does meet their individual needs rather than their personal interests.  As for the different vying competence in job hunting of divers subjects, the very kind of students would probably select the subject most fashioned and of wide application. Whereas, these subjects may not be in accordance with the students' interest. For instance, computer science is the  most popular subject in the recent ten or twenty years, while the computer science bachelors or masters might mostly enjoy other aspects such as mathematics, physics, and so forth. Further, or even a large amount of students do not have an idea that which are their favorite subjects. To this extent, education would not possible specifically designed for students' personal interest.

Secondly, to the second part of students,the better method of education is to meet their interest, and usually their individual interests and needs are commingling. Taking the education receiver in the field of literature for instance, they enter colleges and universities not for specialized skills for job hunting, but for their special desire of literature, and they like the satisfaction in making and enjoying literature works. In other words, they not only prefer literature but also want it spontaneously. Under this circumstance, the personal needs and interests just conjunct as a whole, and in the study of corresponding subject the students would get satisfied by themselves. Therefore, the education to these student would have its most efficiency, needless to specially designed to meet their individual needs and interests.

Finally, to the last sort of students, they apply in the related subjects neither for personal needs nor for individual interest, but for their ambition to bring benefit to human beings.  Such ambition always has close relationship with some subjects of humanities, while these are, to some extent, so boring to pursue great achievement only depending on individual interests. Moreover, these kind of students always make their life target of promote the life of all human being, or the people of their country at least. Even the large scope of benefit receivers also include the very students, I would be inclined to claim that they study only for individual needs. Consequently, even though education is not design to meet their personal needs and interest, the sort of ambitious students would also utilize the most efficiency of education.

To sum up, the structure of education should be distinguished depending on the different characteristics of various subjects to make the education most efficient.

如果看作文时照着作者的思路走下去会觉得这篇文章和不错
分类似乎也很有道理
但 by scrutiny ,这种分类并不是很现实

而且我觉得文中意思应该是统一教育与个别教育的分歧吧
而不是个人兴趣和个人需求之间的矛盾

书上也都是这么翻译的应该没有问题吧

不错,分析挺透彻的。 而且感觉思考层次较深。

感觉加上好,因为你是说对不同人的效率用不同的来衡量吧
此外,好像没啥错误了,照这状态,5分没问题啦
