In the human history, we could find that some great persons effected not only to the contemporaries community but also to the future development of the human world. Both the contemporary persons and people who live after them can decide the greatness of individuals. I fundamentally agree with the assertion of the speaker that contemporaries could not evaluate the greatness of individuals; they should be decided only by those who live after them.

First of all, we should notice that some people play significant roles in the development of the society in every period of time. No matter what kind of efforts did they made, we could not image the history without them. Due to the responsibility of the nation, the political leaders are easier to influence the country, even the world. For example, Adolf.Hitler, the prime criminal of the World War Two, makes millions of people died in the middle of twenty century. Today the spirit of Nazi remains alive in Europe due to the influence of his extermination policy.

Compared with the contemporary persons, people live after the great persons have several advantages to assess the greatness of them. For one thing, they could evaluate the great person more impersonality. Due to the living environment of time, it is hardly for the contemporaries to avoid their decisions or commons influenced by the media. And then, the people live in the next generations could consider the future effect which created by the great person. For example, Vencent van Gogh, the author of Sunflower and The Red Vineyard, had little success during his lifetime. After his death, society began to realize the greatness of the artworks.

In fact, the greatness of individuals can be decided only by the effort not only to the contemporary’s community but also to the future development of the human world. Let us take Bruno for example, Giordano Bruno, the greatest philosopher in the sixteen century, was condemned to the stake because he supported the Heliocentric system which created by Copernicus. However 400 years later, it is a well –acknowledged fact that the earth goes around the sun. Bruno‘s spirits have perpetually inspired other explorers of truth.


In sum, I should conclude that the person live in next generation could decide the greatness more authentic than the contemporary because they have the opportunity to attain the more objective and complete views on the basis of all the efforts made by their forefathers.
