In the argument, the author recommends to stop stocking imported cheese and focus on domestic cheese in order to improve profits. To bolster the conclusion, the author quotes the sell condition and the survey by Cheese of the World magazine. At the first glance, the argument seems reasonable based on such information; however, it is easy to find out some flaws under a close examination and scrutiny, which leads the conclusion unpersuasive and not to be accepted.

Furthermore, the survey quoted in the argument is too vague to informative. How about the authority of Cheese of the World magazine? How about the procedures for random sampling? And we have good reasons to double whether the survey is scientific and whether the sample is representative enough to reflect the whole consumers’ view. Even though we accept the result of survey, the preference among subscribers cannot represent the real purchaser of cheese. It is high chance that subscribers liking eating cheese which is brought by others; however most of them seldom buy it in person. If so, the survey is not a solid evidence to substantiate author’s deduction.

In addition, the author oversimplifies the relationship between reducing expenses and improving profits. Less expense, more profit, which is a false conception. As we know, profit is the subtraction between the cost and income. If the income decrease greatly, the profit would decrease even the expense is deduced. Likely, the policy of focusing on domestic cheese would lost numerous customers who prefer imported cheese, even such buyer who like both would rather to other store where provide imported and domestic cheeses. Any likelihood would do harm to improving the profits.

Last but not least, the author neglect the other possibilities that might be beneficial to solve problem, such as trying new strategy to increase the sale of imported chess. There might be unnecessary to stop selling or stocking the imported cheese. If it turns out to be true, the author’s conclusion would be weakened greatly.    (好像已经没话说了,这段是否删了比较好,自己先汗一个)

To sum up, based on what has discussed and analyzed above, it is clear that the argument is invalid and misleading, and the conclusion reached in the argument is too presumptuous and hasty to be accepted.
