Argument111 The following appeared in a memo from the vice president of marketing
at Dura-Sock, Inc.

"A recent study of Dura-Sock wearers suggests that our company is wasting the money it spends on its patented "Endure" manufacturing process, which ensures that our socks are strong enough to last for two years. Dura-Sock has always advertised its use of the "Endure" process, but the new study shows that the average Dura-Sock customer actually purchases new Dura-Socks every three months. Furthermore, Dura-Sock customers surveyed in our largest market, northeastern United States cities, say that they most value Dura-Sock's stylish appearance and availability in many colors. These findings suggest that Dura-Sock can increase its profits by discontinuing its use of the "Endure" manufacturing process."

In this argument, the arguer suggests Dura-Sock to stop the use of the 'Endure' manufacturing process in order to increase its profits. He supports his suggestion by two surveys, which show that customers more value stylish appearance and colors of sock, rather than its endurance. At first glance, his suggestion seems reasonable, but after careful study, we can find several flaws as following.

First of all, the recent study, one of the evidence the arguer depends on, lacks enough information to prove its persuasion. For example, who conducted the survey? Where the survey was made? How many people took the survey and how many people responded? Could the respondents represent all the customers' opinion? Unless all the above questions were answered, the survey cannot be thought as strong evidence. Moreover, even if the survey's result can reflect the true consumption situation, it only shows customer often buys a new Dura-Socks every three months, and it does not show their old socks have been worn out. However, there may be some other reasons that make customers to purchase new socks. For instance, it is possible that fans of Dura-Sock just like to collect all kinds of Dura-Socks.

Secondly, the second evidence that show customers in northeastern United States cities most value stylish appearance and colors is also too weak to be strong evidence. On the one hand, the fact that people pay much attention on appearance and colors does not means that they do not care about whether the socks can endure long. On the other hand, only the opinion of customers of northeastern United States cities cannot represent all the customers.

Last but not the least, granted that the 'Endure' manufacturing process is really useless, it is not certain that discontinuing the process can increase profits. It is likely that the process has been very mature and does not cost more money compared with not using the process. Thus, it does not need to discontinue the process. In addition, to change the manufacturing process will probably bring many unexpected problems. For example, it maybe causes bad impression on customers. What is more, to change the process will also cost lots of money for new machines, materials and the like.

To sum up, the arguer is too cursory to make the suggestion because all the evidence he provides is untenable. To make his suggestion more convincing, he has to take the facets discussed above into account, that is, to invest the genuine reason for customers purchasing new socks and to study whether the 'Endure' process is useless.

It is likely that the process has been very mature and does not cost more money compared with not using the process. Thus, it does not need to (这个用法比较少见啊..there's no need to 比较常用吧)discontinue the process. In addition, to change the manufacturing process will probably bring many unexpected problems. For example, it maybe causes bad impression on customers. What is more, to change the process will also cost lots of money for new machines, materials and the like.(而且,不采用这个技术,就要设计一些其它优势特点来吸引顾客,反而会加大成本)

To sum up, the arguer is too cursory to make the suggestion because all the evidence he provides is untenable. To make his suggestion more convincing, he has to take the facets discussed above into account, that is, to invest the genuine reason for customers purchasing new socks and to study whether the 'Endure' process is useless.

首先,有个问题..要讨论一下,就是动词的比较级修饰到底怎么用呢?
more vaue, most value 都是直接放在动词前门修饰吧,我觉得好像是 vale...more, value..most, 但是又找不到语法理论来支持...这个..一定要给我解释一下啊~~!!~~

你是本着限时写的心情来写的吧~,所以有点紧张的感觉,逻辑和组织上没什么问题,很好 .就是一急,一些背过的好的用法都忘记了,经常套用一个句式一个动词(有好多个show)...还有就是词的数量一致关系要多注意哦~~改的不对的地方,请指出.

偶的,限时间很失败,第三个理由觉得非常牵强..卡了很久...
