谢谢大家的热心回答，后来又收到的具体的说明：
I am pleased to offer you a 0.50 FTE graduate assistantship for the 2006-2007 academic year. The assistantship is, of course, contingent upon your provision of appropriate visa status.  In order to continue the assistantship, you must maintain satisfactory academic progress and satisfactory teaching/research work performance.  Your appointment will be reviewed for renewal at the beginning of each fiscal year and will be contingent upon availability of funding.

The assistantship provides a salary of $14,325 for a 12 month period, along with a remission of all but a nominal portion of tuition and fees ($711 per semester for the 2006-2007 academic year plus a $50 international fee).  The dates of your appointment are 21 August 2006 through 20 August 2007.  
1.不知道这个是什么0.50 FTE graduate assistantship , TA?RA?
2.不知道是不是这个意思：只给06-07年的，以后看表现，还要根据每年的财政状况
3.$14,325 for a 12 month period这些钱不知道在那里够不够用
4.$711 per semester 一年有三个学期么，那自己还要交2000多刀？那以后每年都这样么？

  0.50 FTE=50%full time employment,就是half time
2, 全奖一般是这样, 正常的话顺延.
3,普度的话,够用啦, 扣去自己交的约2K的fees, 还有一月1K呢
4, 一般是fall+spring, summer看你修不修课了吧,这个我不知道,不过你的是summer还是要RA的
