The speaker claims that one must choosebetween tradition and modernization because they are incompatible. Contrast with speaker's claim, in myviewpoint, tradition and modernization are primarily compatible though sometimes they contradict to each other.
To begin with, a superficial and understandable meaning of tradition is a kind of habit, which has formed fordecades even several centuries. Such a kind of tradition will never occur a confliction with modernization. For example, British share a habit of afternoon tea, which formed in the mid 18th and is still popular now. Along with a cup of milk tea, there would be small pastries with clotted cream or preserves, delicate sandwiches and scones. Such a habit help British relax from the tension produced from their busy work and keep a positive attitude to the modern life. Another means of tradition, in people's opinion, is equal to the culture. I concede that a modern life changed us a lot, compared with passed(past) time, humans, who are differ(different) from the racial, do effort to keep down their culture till today as various culture is the spirit of the human civilization.Meanwhile, the effective way to keep down such tradition is with the help ofthe production of the modernization- high tech. For instance, we never forgetthat Christmas Day makes an important role in human’s tradition, as the one ofthe most representative cultures. It is pity for some family members, if who miss to reunion with their relatives for several reasons so that they are unable to sit around the table to a celebration and pray. Yet, such a pity has been successfully solved by communication such as the telephone, E-mail, MSN and the like. By these ways, can a person communicate with his/her family members and maintain the steady of the tradition festival in people's minds. In short, tradition and modernization are compatible, at least in the cultur elevel(level).
这一段论证很好
Actually, it is a mere fact that some skills which are also a part of tradition are behind the times and should be replaced by modern skills which are more effective, lower cost. Textile and crop technology, as a typical example, can explain this claim: if we continue to use traditional skills which need to hire a lot of workers and probablyproduce poor and less cloths and food, they cannot meet the need of the humansin their daily lives with a huge population. Thus, between the traditionalskills and modern ones, we should choose the latter which can meet human’srequirement first of all. While such a conflict between tradition andmodernization is rarely exist.
However, we cannot ignore the relationbetween tradition and modernization: traditional science is a basis of today's development. Moreover, such as physics and chemistry, possess a similar even same frame and theory with the traditional ones. A lot of grand inventionswhich improve human society at present greatly are due to the traditionalscience and theories. Without Johanns Kepler's three disciples, cannot weproduce the plane and shuttle to fly in the sky and discover the cosmos;without Newton'stheory of the optics, cannot we invent the camera which can catch report thewonderful moment in daily life. Without the contribution from the tradition, would not the development of modernization be so successful.
In sum, it is my assertion that both tradition and modernization are mostly compatible in the society. Furthermore, the establishment of the modernization is based on the tradition so that eitheraspect should not be overlooked.
