TOPIC: ISSUE103 - "The study of history has value only to the extent that it is relevant to our daily lives."

One might find that the study of history does help to improve his daily life, but the value of the study of history is not limited to such a narrow extent.

Admittedly, most people attracted by the history because of the practical usages of it on the daily lives. From the reading of the history, one can gain more experiences before he attempts to exercise. He would know the evil outcomes of some behaviors from the history even if they are just bore in mind. Then, he won't implement such behaviors and prevent the evil outcomes. Moreover, one can learn from the pass that it is the persistence of hard work that can a person be successful.  And more daily life experiences can acquired from the study of history, such as how to prevent the house to fire, how to make sure getting a harvest, how to raise horses, etc. It is the history that links us with the ancestors of our own and shares us the experiences of them. To this sense, history has great value towards our daily lives.

However, history is of more value than mere in the daily life. History tells us who we are in deed, what kind of achievements our ancestors have reached and marked. It gives us the identities of our societies and civilizations. Sometimes, history is not so directly relevant to our daily lives as to teach us how to cook a meal but gives us our faith to live on, to keep going. It shows the brilliant of the thousands of years of the lives that ever existed on this planet. It signifies that as human beings, we are real. And sometimes even we can’t find any solution in the record of the past, facing the long period of blooming development of human society, the brave and intelligence of the ancestors, we just know that, we can get through this time.

Moreover, sometimes histories are studied only on the reason of the curiosity of the past.  The arts created in the history are countless and representative of the imagination of human, and there are many people that interested in the several of production of the past. How can they be made, why? Those questions can be served by the study of the history of the contemporary lives.

Moreover, history also has value on serious issues such as politics and wars. The government should always keep in mind not only theirs but also the others' failures of the past to prevent them happen again bringing other disasters. As mistakes of a country can bring more damages than personal daily ones, it is even more important to study the history for the country's purpose.

What history can give or infer is sometimes surprising, and that is another great part of the value of the history.
