How to be an effective leader?
How to be an effective leader? As the speaker says that he or she must maintain the highest ethical and moral standards. I agree with the abroad assertion that the leader must maintain high ethical and moral standards, but not the highest.
Higher ethical and moral standards will bring benefits to others, which will encourage the leader to be more effective. When it comes to the policy, the leader who takes the citizens' benefits at the first place will bring more successful rule to the citizens. Therefore, the citizens will stand the leader without hesitation. When it comes to the business, the leader who takes the company's favor at first place will make more money for the company. If the leader does at the opposite, such as the leader was selfish, untruthful and lazy, he or she must be a disaster for the group, let alone be effective leader.
Higher ethical and moral standards will bring confidence and energy. Even in daily life, we are hate dealing with the people who lazy, selfish, untruthful and unfriendly. The leader who has higher ethical and moral standards will be accepted by other, which will let he or she confident to do what he or she was doing at the moment and full of passing for life.
However, the effective leader needn't maintain the highest ethical and moral standards. As all of us know that, there is only one can touch the top of the highest, but there are many effective leader around us. Therefore, to be an effective leader needn't maintain the highest ethical and moral standards, but need the higher stands than normal person. On the other hand, the leader who maintains the highest ethical and moral standards also may be an ineffective leader. For example, one who has no knowledge and not insight for the future will make wrong decision and take the group on the wrong way, from this point of view, he or she harmful to the group at least can't be an effective leader.
To sum up, Even though this issue connects to many other issues and it is not easy to make an easy conclusion, i still want to raise my opinion about the issue. An effective leader may maintain the highest ethical and moral standards, but it is not the necessary condition, but he or she should have higher standards. Moreover, he or she also needs the insightful and specific knowledge.
