The lecturer talked about the issue that would space tourism bring about benefits for serious science and for the public. While the passage convince the benefits, the lecturer gave some negative views .

First, considering control system and safety, the cost of space travel may be extraordinary expensive and the cost will not go down fast. In other words, the spaceflight will not be any cheaper because of competition. This directly contradicts what the passage indicates.

Second, commercial spaceflight tourism would delay or even prevent scientific discovery other than promote it. Contrary to what is mentioned in the reading passage, employed scientists may turn to work on the tourism industry. As a result, science explorations might actually suffer.

Third, there would be no chance for the taxpayers to ease their burdens significantly. For the so-called privatize tourism, space stations and airports would be built and they certainly require more money from the government. That is, taxpayers would pay more.
