题目:ARGUMENT127 - The vice president for human resources at Climpson Industries sent the following recommendation to the company's president.

"In an effort to improve our employees' productivity, we should implement electronic monitoring of employees' Internet use from their workstations. Employees who use the Internet from their workstations need to be identified and punished if we are to reduce the number of work hours spent on personal or recreational activities, such as shopping or playing games. By installing software to detect employees' Internet use on company computers, we can prevent employees from wasting time, foster a better work ethic at Climpson, and improve our overall profits."

In this recommendation, the vice-president concludes that the Climpson Industries (CI ) should implement electronic monitoring of employees' Internet use from their workstations. To justify this assertion he notes that identification and punishment could be used, and that this measure(methods) will prevent workers from wasting time. In addition, a further prediction about better work ethic of CI and improvement of the overall profits is made. Despite that the assertion has merits and well presented,
there are several logical flaws in critical respects which render it wholly unpersuasive as it stands.

To the first place, the author overlooks the possibility that the employees would respond to the control(no double L) of use of Internet-surfing? depending on the
strategy and stage
the supervisor
uses. Probably, a hasty
control will deteriorate the work ethic which have been well established, on the contrary, to be more human
could be helpful to attain the shift successfully. Fail to consider the variable of strategy and stage of the new policy, the author could not convince us that this policy is feasible.

To the second place, when it comes to making profit, whether a new policy will become profitable is a function of
input and revenue. Considering the sacrifice in
integer
concentrate power of CI and the decline of productive quality which may bring about by the control of employees' internet use, it is unconvincing? to assert
that
this policy will make profit. there are various other factors that makes the outcome complicated, such as production process operating hours and staff size.
the author omits the possibility that these factors will lead to.

To the last place, there are a myriad of alternative measures to attain to the end of making profit, beside cutting indipended Internet using hours. the CI could consider that encourage its employees to surfing on line after accomplish their
in-handing
work, or control the total internet using hour of each employee(containing some entertainment hours) then give the most excellent worker
special entertainment internet hours.

In conclusion, the assertion that the implement of electronic monitoring of employees' Internet use from their workstations is not justifiable, at least based on this recommendation of the vice-president .To bolster it he must present evidences about the other variables mentioned above that effect the overall profit , and to convince me the new policy is feasible the author have better hold a survey to ensure most of the workers approve the policy and the suggestion by them.
