TOPIC: ARGUMENT45 - The following appeared as an editorial in a wildlife journal.

"Arctic deer live on islands in Canada's arctic region. They search for food by moving over ice from island to island during the course of a year. Their habitat is limited to areas warm enough to sustain the plants on which they feed, and cold enough, at least some of the year, for the ice to cover the sea separating the islands, allowing the deer to travel over it. Unfortunately, according to reports from local hunters, the deer populations are declining. Since these reports coincide with recent global warming trends that have caused the sea ice to melt, we can conclude that the decline in arctic deer populations is the result of deer being unable to follow their age-old migration patterns across the frozen sea."

In this argument, the speaker reachs the conclusion that the decline in arctic deer population is the result of the inability to continue their migration patterns across the sea. And the speaker supports his conclusion with the report of the global warming trends and the description of the arctic deer's habitat. However, I think this argument is flawed because of the groudless assumption it depends on.

First, the major premise in this argument cannot be comfirmed, which is the population of the arctic deer might not decline. On one hand, the report from the local hunters is not reliable. It is possible that those hunters just to find a excuse to conceal thier too much huntings towards the arctic deer; or possibly, the hunters are usually expecting for more arctic deers while the reality cannot meet their expections. On the other hand, even if they telling the truth without any personal interestes involved, the local hunters might only do their hunting works around the loacl areas, which means they don't know much about the entire living situations on the arctic deer. Thus, merely based on the report of the local hunters are not enough to tell that the population of the arctic deer is declining.

Then, the coincidence of the global warming report and the decline of the arctic deer's population cannot be infered as a causal corelation. The speaker unfirely assums that the global warming has an effect in the Canada's arctic region. Perhaps the global warming has nothing to do with the arctic areas. Even the assumption is reasonable, sea. the higher degrees might have little effect considered the extremely cold in the areas. No evidence prove that the warming climate in the area has caused the melt of the sea ice as serious as to stop the deer to travel over the

Finally, there is no evidence provided that the change of the arctic deer's age-old migration will lead to the declining population of that. As common knowledge that the limit of the arctic deer's activity area cannot lead to such a severe condition that the arctic deer's decline of population. After all, the warming up climate ensures the areas warm enough to sustain the plants on which the arctic deer feed. And the change of the migration might be a natural selection to keep the stronger arctic deers survie and generate their descendants.

In conclusion, the speaker should work more on the information cellection and use some scientific method to ensure the situation of the arctic deer and the place them live. What's more, the more knowledge on the arctic deer's habitat should be reqired to anlysis this problems.

In this argument, the speaker reachs(reaches) the conclusion that the decline in arctic deer population is the result of the inability to continue their migration patterns across the sea.(原因应该是地球变暖引起的海洋上的冰融化) And the speaker supports his conclusion with the report of the global warming trends and the description of the arctic deer's habitat. However, I think this argument is flawed because of the groudless(groundless) assumption it depends on.

First, the major premise in this argument cannot be comfirmed(confirmed), which is the population of the arctic deer might not decline. On one hand, the report from the local hunters is not reliable. It is possible that those hunters just to find a excuse to conceal thier(their) too much huntings(hunting) towards the arctic deer; or possibly, the hunters are usually expecting for more arctic deers while the reality cannot meet their expections(expectations). On the other hand, even if they telling the truth without any personal interestes(interests) involved, the local hunters might only do their hunting works around the loacl(local) areas, which means they don't know much about the entire living situations on the arctic deer. Thus, merely based on the report of the local hunters are not enough to tell that the population of the arctic deer is declining.

Then, the coincidence of the global warming report and the decline of the arctic deer's population cannot be inferred(inferred) as a causal corelation(correlation).(你这句话说全球变暖和驯鹿总数减少是有关系的,反而映证题意!) The speaker unfirely(unfairly) assums(assumes) that the global warming has an effect in the Canada's arctic region. Perhaps the global warming has nothing to do with the arctic areas. Even the assumption is reasonable, sea. the higher degrees might have little effect considered the extremely cold in the areas. No evidence prove that the warming climate in the area has caused the melt of the sea ice as serious as to stop the deer to travel over the (。。。。。?)

And the change of the migration might be a natural selection to keep the stronger arctic deers survie(survive) and generate their descendants.

In conclusion, the speaker should work more on the information cellection(collection) and use some scientific method to ensure the situation of the arctic deer and the place them live. What's more, the more knowledge on the arctic deer's habitat should be reqired(required) to anlysis(analysis) this problems(problem).

估计你是限时写完的,有些急,不容易。写完后,请自己放到word改一遍。Argument立意要再高些,不要陷入套路。
