第七次作业：Do you agree with the following statement: nowadays people spend too much time on personal enjoyment –things they like to do—rather than the things they should do.

With the dramatic development of economy in our country and application of machinary into the increasing number jobs we do today, there is much time for us to spend on doing something we like. When it comes to whether people spend more time on personal enjoyment than the things they should do. Some people claim that people should take much time to do what they should do, while others hold the opposite opinion. As far as I am concerned, I am in favor of the attitude of the latter, that is , people can use their much time to do their favorite things.

The first plain truth, I am present here, is that high technique and effictive machines make it possible for most people to finish their job faster than ever before, which means they can possess more time. To illustrate this point, here is a good example that is quite persuasive. Since the advent of the computer, it is more efficient to do various jobs.Perhaps, most people can write 40 words in a minute, however, with the computer to type the words which the speed as twice as that of writing by our hands. If a 4,800-word article is left to us to finish, 2 or 3 hours will be enough. This example indicates that with the help of various high technical method, we do not need to spend too much time to finish what we have to do. Therefore, more spare time available can help us do what we want to, such as travelling, playing baskeball, and so forth.

In addition, we can spend much time to relieve because we faced heavy pressure in modern society. No one can deny the fact that in temporary life, as the pace of life speeds up, almost all the persons are suffering massive stress from their work and study. As is well konwn, the pressure may lead to mental problems if people do nothing to balance it.When I watch an amusing movie like Mr.Bean, I can escape from reality temporarily. I feel recharged after watching this kind of movie. For me, comedies can serve as a powerful medicine for my mental health.Therefor, if we spend much time to relieve, then we will have
better health and a cheerful feeling.

Last but not least, there is no doubt about the fact that there are quite many lucky people whose interests are just in accordance of their jobs. They are usually absorbed by the enjoyment even when they are do their jobs or take their duties. For example, Kobe Bryant, one of the most famous basketball stars in NBA, said he enjoyed every game they played.What is more, he regards basketball even as a significant part of his life. Therefor, it is not curious any longer for us why the motto of NBA was "I love this game"which had been used for a long time.

From what has discussed above, we may safely draw the conclusion that although we have a great deal of things which we should do, people pay more attention to their mental health and their relaxation.Besides, the development of modern technology has not to be ingored.
