121"At various times in the geological past, many species have become extinct as a result of natural, rather than human, processes. Thus, there is no justification for society to make extraordinary efforts, especially at a great cost in money and jobs, to save endangered species


The speaker asserts that a large number of species have become extinct as a result of natural in the geological past, so human beings are not responsible for the extinction of our species .Actually，more and more animals are in danger because of peoples’ improper behavior. On balance, however, I fundamentally agree with the notion that human being have to take some property measures to protect endangered species..

There are many creatures like termites in the nature, some may extinguished before being found and recorded by biologists, and some may extinguished before their benefits to mankind have been discovered .Species that cannot adapt to changing environmental conditions brought about by natural processes or by human actions become extinct forever( adapt-or-die principle, or the-earth-can-easily-get-along-without-us principle) Besides, we must
be aware clearly that the extinction of some species is the result of the selection of nature, it makes the balance of our biological system , there are thousands of species has extinct which has no worst influence for our nature and society .In addition the resources of our society are finite. There are still a good deal of people who still do not have basic necessities.

However, extinction has always been occurring, the present wave of extinction caused by human pressures and exploitation are at least 1000 times the natural rate. Why so many species are becoming endangered science Industry Revolution? Though many reasons should be take into consideration , the most important factor leading to the endangerment of the majority of wildlife in the world is the human who produce many
impact on the species and their environment. “As human use of resources, energy, and space intensified over the past few centuries, the diversity of life has been substantially diminished in most parts of the world” (Ishwaran & Erdelen, 2006, p.179). When economic and society are developing, their influences on natural environments and diversity of life must be considered. Humans are constantly using the resources and space of other species for themselves, negatively impacting the survival rate of many creatures. Many natural animals passing from the “sovereign” of wide circumstance to the attachments of human being to, finally , conquered or extinct species ——disappeared from the earth forever.

Besides, protecting endangered species will bring many benefits to human being ,they are one important part of our natural system ,without them we human being will be also in danger. “Diversity of life and living systems are a necessary condition for human development” (Ishwaran & Erdelen, 2006, p.179). Diversity of life is absolutely necessary for human and also supplies us with product and aesthetic enjoyment, what are important to satisfy human’s physical and emotional request . In other words, species provide products such as medicine for human wellbeing, and provided research that resulted in scientific discoveries.
Besides, species also serve as a source of art and entertainment, an example of an “aesthetic” in conserving endangered species is that of the introduction of the gray wolf into Yellowstone National Park. The gray wolf has brought numerous amounts of tourists to the park and added to the biodiversity in the protected region (Wilcove & Master, 2008, p. 418).Thus, protecting endangered species is not only benefit the animal and the balance of natural ecosystems but also bring human being tremendous advances.

In sum, it is appears reasonable ,therefore, for human beings to focus on how to fulfill the objective that government should make good use the limitation source and money to keep balance the development of our society and the diversity of life than to discuss whether we should protect endangered species.
