Agree or disagree: Teachers should be paid at least as much as doctors, lawyers or business leaders are paid



Education is one of the key words in 21st century, a man without an education, many of us believe, is an unfortunate victim of adverse circumstance, deprived of the most precious opportunity of life. Living in such a tide of education, we modern people are getting increasingly enthusiastic on learning, including our kids or ourselves, in order to take advantage of others in a specific field. Accompanying this trend, teachers, as provider of training in a large scale, are pushed to the spot of social stage. Should these gardeners be paid as decent as those social elites like doctors, lawyers? I totally approve of this proposal, for it will not only improve the passion of them, but also will attract more smart students to the field of education.



In the first place, increasing salaries of them will ignite their passion toward teaching. As we all know, nowadays the pay for teachers is not so good that many distinguished teachers are suppressed with domestic things, such as housing problem, family expenses, even their meals in some poor regions. By accruing their wages, they will no longer be haunted with this kind of problems, consequently, they would be more industrious and concentrated on profession. In this way, our children will be benefitted ultimately.



Aside from encouraging their work, increased pay will drive more elite students to learn education. Apparently, resources are organized by the market, human resource has no exception. As far as I know, people hesitate to major in education because they deem this major as low paid yet high cost in time and energy. Frustrated with the reality, they are incline to choose some other majors instead, leaving few less enlightened candidates in this field. On condition that the pay of teachers is accrue, needless to say, more talented students will be aggregated in such profession, which will in its turn enhance the education.

However, considerable benefits though increasing pay enjoys, we have to make more adjustments in order to guarantee authentic contribution to our children, like strengthen the qualifications for teachers, enhance cultivation of pre-teachers, just to name a few.

To sum up, I’d like to advocate that increasing pay for teachers appropriately, to some extent, will benefit our kids by means of igniting teachers’ passion and attracting more distinguished students joining the group of teachers,
