Since the first caveman hunts his big game animal throughout cooperation with his companions, we human beings have undergone no general improvement neither in intelligence or morality, the crucial key of our incredible achievement lies in the teamwork, the strategy of collaboration among a large group of individuals. Nowadays, we modern people face even more delicate and tough tasks, which call for a more intensive cooperation. Thus this basic principle is also applicable to me, personally, I prefer to ask other people for advice rather than figure it out only by myself when I encounter some tough questions, such as doing an experiment in a specific field, make a judgment on marriage, etc. The experience and wisdom of others will make the process of solution much more interesting and advisable.



In the first place, by consulting others, we can gain a deeper and all-sided perception on the question we confront with. Generally, It is commonly recognized that the strength and wisdom of an individual is so limited that he/she are not able to solve a complex problem, like a clinical trail of a specific medicine. only With the help of other colleagues can he/she finish it at a considerable speed and a satisfying quality. Taking the design of graduate paper as an example, we college students have to consult to numerous people for enough information for our design, including mentor, professors, even our roommates! Under this circumstance, how could we finish it without the support of others?



The second reason lies in the fun that multiplied in the process of discussion. As we all know, when we stay alone, we tend to become depress and silent, while we are discussing with others, we have a higher inclination to smile and enjoy fun. Let us make reference to our graduate design again, hard and boring though the project is, we feel happier and more satied when we are discussing related problems with our teammates, professors, just to name a few, and indisputably, I believe your consulters feel in the same way for communication is indeed a happy experience.



However, we have to clarify the boundaries of questions, we had better not to consult others in minor issues, like how to dress, where to eat, etc, that may bother others.


To sum up, I’d like to advocate that it is advisable to inquire others for some big issues, like design of a paper or experiment, because we can receive more feasible solutions and fun.

According to the lecture, the professor illustrates several points on the dispute of Easter Island culture, which are mainly focus on the mysterious disappearance of its flouring culture and the abandon of huge statues. These ideas are wildly contradict to the views held by the author, who believes that the fundamental factor lies in the invasion of foreign races.

In the first place, the professor insists that the collapse of it should be blamed on internal causes, and the most crucial one is the exhaustion of the trees, which give birth to the sequential effects on the society. What’s more, she adds that the depletion of forests stems from the overexploitation, not other factors. While the writer asserts that the authentic reason of its disappearing is foreign invasion, who also used up the trees in the island without any future perspective.

The second rub lies in the construction of those huge statues. According to the lecturer, the motives of building it are religion and competition among tribes. She claims that due to the prosperity of economy, the locals decided to build them in order to express worship of their god, which also arise the competition on constructing them. This ferment may contribute a lot to the depletion of forests, which is cardinal factor of its disappearance and discontinue of statues. Nonetheless, the narrator believes that the sudden stop of constructing perfectly supports the theory of foreign invasion, who devastated the culture itself as well.

Finally, the professor assumes another possible reason of abandoning statues: the loss of confidence on the god they used to believe in, because the god could not protect them from the deteriorating environment which was actually ruined by themselves. On the contrary, refer to the reading passage, we know that the reason is the substitution of religion, which is called birdman worship by us. It is demonstrated that the replacement was brought by the invaders, who are believed to spoiled the culture.
