Should the higher education be open to everyone or just the elite students? Consider the faction of the higher education, the advantage of the elite students and limit of the society resources. I prefer to agree that only the elite students should be allowed to proceed.

First of all , higher education is not essential for everyone. It is true that education is a way for people to get knowledge and skill for them to make a living, and this education is basic education, everyone have right to take and they should. But higher education is not like the basic education, it is teaching think far much deeper, something not really used in the daily life. So it doesn’t necessary open higher education to everyone.

Furthermore, given finite society resources, we should know not everyone can get a higher education. The society elite students can well learning more quickly and use the knowledge in to practice more effectual so they can easy make value to the society, whereas some students maybe lagged behind, wasting their time which may be used to learn some basic skill or work. It is not to say, when getting a higher education, elite students can contribute the society while the students who are not elite will waste the society resources all the time, it indeed happen.

I am not denying the case that the original students can also built contradiction to the society and human being. But it is just a few cases. To value the gain and lost at whole society level, we should take a balance to discard this little tiny benefit comparing to the large mount of recourses we saved that can use to do more sensible thinks, for instance, enforce the basic education.


In sum, when discussed about whether the higher education should open to everyone regardless of the background or open to the elite students, it should be considered at the whole society level. In order to get the largest benefit to human being, I think the higher education should only access to the elite students.

要说明“higher education is not essential for everyone”，“basic education + higher education + differentce + why not suitable for everyone”这样的结构应该是毋庸置疑的，楼主也是这么写的，但是：
1. 在论述 basic education 这个地方不妨直接说 As the purpose of basic education is to teach people foundamental knowledge and skill necessary for their daily life, it is indispensable for everyone.
2. 论述 high education 的时候提到了 “something not really used in the daily life” ，其实这是不符合事实的，举个例子，一个计算机高级工程师，他每天用到的东西极有可能就是他在大学期间学习的那些较深奥的专业知识。所以这里觉得楼主可以思考一下其他的理由，比如说某些人没有兴趣进行深造，或者某些人不适合深造，或者有其他的艺术、音乐、体育天赋等。

wanghugigi 第二段的最后一句改的我很喜欢 第三段 我也搞不清楚怎么个情况了， 我回去仔细的看看 再改改这语法。谢谢了

FFtserAph 第二段提的意见的第一条也有道理，但是第二条，我想的和你不大一样， 我的意思是生活所必备的基本的衣食住行~ 不是较为高级的 活动，elite students的活动无论怎样都与其他人不同，这是社会定位。
