第二次写ARGU,超时了近一刻钟……还是觉得写得比较罗嗦,不过估计语法错误应该很少(这方面我自己一般都比较费时的)。请指教谢谢!
In this report, the dean of Omega university tries to prevail others on belief that the system of student evaluation of professors should be canceled for the so-called “inflation” of grades and unsuccessful experience of graduates’ acquiring occupation. However, I maintain that this report is far from being convincing for it neglects alternative reasons concerning the whole process of the practice of students’ evaluation system and the following results during the last 15 years. Although the dean claim that Omega university had implemented a new system of students’ evaluation upon professors 15 years ago, he has either ignored or obscure the real condition of such system’s practice during the past period of time. It is possible that the whole system didn’t experience sufficient carrying-out due to the failure of task of announcing or other expected and unexpected reasons, which means that only some of the students had joined such system and put their right of evaluation into exertion. If that was the case, then the constant raising of students’ grades could had nothing to do with the evaluation system, let alone the reluctant conclusion made in the memorandum. Moreover, the reports cannot confirm that the students’ rising grades was the consequence of the implement of evaluation system. Some other possible but rational matters should also be taken into account before the final conclusion. Maybe the capacity of newly-enrolled students in Omega University was higher than their upperclassmen, and they could handle the examination with better skills thus achieved higher scores. And probably the facilities in application for education had been improved with the consequence that the latest students can study and obtain information related to their lessons more easily and conveniently. To sum up, a sound evaluation and research upon all factors related to the education should be executed so that others will be informed the veriest reason for students’ grades “inflation” Besides, the dean made an unconvinced report that the inflation of grades led to the worse consequence their graduates had faced during the last 15 years. It is known to all whether one can obtain a profession relies on myriad of complications. For that, the present outcome of Omega’s students endured after their graduation may be arosed by the more profound factors other than grades. It is reasonable to presume that the career services including training consultation was not thoroughly implemented to guarantee that their graduates will be competent enough to talent themselves among their peers during the competition in profession market. And we must consider that whether those graduates failure in getting their jobs had a lot to do with their own majors for in a period of time graduates from some certain majors will have to face a tougher condition in acquiring a suitable jobs due to the ever-changing trend or some certain event which influenced our society, and Omega university just didn’t make it to adjust its’ structure of major which may probably be predicted and finished by Alpha universities.generally speaking, the causality between the higher grades or the evaluation system and the difficult situation of students’ getting jobs is far from been valid except above alternatives are rationally excluded. My overview upon the dean’s report is that his statement is not convinced enough for all those myriad of reasons. In order to make other administrators of Omega university to accept his proposal, the dean should at least analyze that (1) the percentage of students in Omega university participating in the evaluation system; (2)the quality of Omega university’s education and the capability of students to handle examination;(3) the setting of Omega university’s majors and the measures concerning career services. |
