Confronted with the problem of how to allocate the limited money in support of the arts and athletics, some will regard the support of arts as more important while others argues that government should spend more money in support of athletics. As far as I am concerned, the two aspects are both of inevitable importance that the government should learn to balance them well.

First of all, arts are involved in the human’s spiritual aspects and they carry with many functions, like providing sheer entertainment, being didactic, and promoting our society to move on. The art is an indispensible form to express what people want to convey and what they feel about the world we are living in. Hence it is so significant for the development of our human beings, the indicator with distinguishing from other animals. For example, movie is one basic form of arts; however different movies hold with various functions. Comedy is one well known type of movie, such as Nothing To Lose or films acted by Jim Carrey, which can make us burst into laughter and provide us pleasure, maybe hence inadvertently leading to a full-of-energy working day. That is just activating us from the spiritual perspective and it is not difficult to see that its potential power is of great immenseness. Hence the government should pay enough attention to the development of the arts and therefore elevating the spiritual level of our humankind.

个人不喜欢这样的观点，这样的观点相当于没有观点。题目让我们做出选择的原因就是因为这两方面都很重要，如果有一方面比另一方面明显重要的话还用我们选择么？而且，即使是两方面都重要也要强调一下如何 balance，作者就一句pay attention to就没有了，这样的观点能给对方带来多大收益啊？又不是胡锦涛答记者问，非得拐弯抹角。
