I fundamentally agree with the statement that such nonmainstream areas of inquiry play a role in meeting the demands of human beings while that can not be satisfied from the mainstream science, but the areas of nonmainstream can not surpass science, what can advance the development of society.

The nonmainstream areas of inquiry such as astrology, fortune telling, and psychic and paranormal can make people feel content since the areas of nonmainstream can satisfy human’s curiosity. The nonmainstream areas of inquiry set a serious of assumption so that they can explain the nature phenomena while mainstream science can not deal with. In the ancient period, people know little about the universe and the essential of matter, as a result the nonmainstream areas of inquiry dominate the people’s thought and people’s lives. For example, people feel curious why they have days and nights, why they experience different seasons. Science has not so full-developed as today, thus it can not give truly illustration to people while the nonmainstream inquiry can let people know why these phenomena happen with illusion. These fictions meet the curiosity of human, and they play a vital role in society.

On the other hand, the nonmainstream areas of inquiry can meet human's psychic demands when they feel confused about the universe and themselves. People didn't know where they come from and where they would go after they died, as a result people would easily feel depression with the reason of they can not find the leader of spirit. This kind of emotion would have influence on their activities. The nonmainstream areas of inquiry emphasize the existence of omniscience, who should be the leader of peoples. Addition the rulers support such nonmainstream areas of inquiry in order to consolidate the domination by apotheosizing themselves .For example,     alchemy , the most attractive research in middle age appealed a lot of people to investing in its realm even though some of these person are scientists. Science may be able to improve the value of a person but science can not make their spirit feel content, therefore they turn to nonmainstream to search answers. Without nonmainstream maybe many people will lost them in the chaos world and feel desperation for facing a mysterious world.

However, what is determining factor is science, rather than nonmainstream areas of inquiry, what advance the whole society. With the development of science, people recognize the truth of the world, the essential of matter, the origin of human beings. Perhaps some cases of nature phenomenal are still not deciphered, but we know that with the development of science human beings can know more and decipher more abstruse affairs. If we invest more energy and more attention on since than nonmainstream for the human's future, we can achieve more than we expected.

In sum, viewing the history of human’s development; the nonmainstream areas of inquiry have made important influence on human beings. But we can see that in the future it will fade while since can explain most phenomena and make human more confidence with themselves.

不过今天可以定下心来写完一整篇issue也算是进步了！
