I have been in canada for almost 3 years la. Haha
The biggest success is :
I helped my wife to enroll University of Alberta's EE Master.
It is a top 5 school.
Her English was VERY VERY poor when she came to canada.

Here are some key points that you may feel helpful

1. DON'T even give a shit to the University's "PAI MING"
that is totally bull shit. No one in IT industry will think Gulph U
is better than Ottawa U

2. DONT'T waste your time in GRE! mostly useless.  

3. If your GPA is less than 80. DON'T waste your time and $
Forget YuMinHong's "T/G scores are key to you success".
YU is a business man.

4. My Wife's TOEFL is only 247 (=paper test 590). but she got 4 offers
I am her classmate. T 640, G2270. No offers
What's difference? my GPA is 75. Hers is 87

5. It is extremely difficult to find a job in Canada now.
Almost Mission Impossible.
I was very lucky and because I have a very strong IT background
So I still have a job. It's a senior position in Canada's biggest Telecommunition
company.
It is almost impossible for a new graduated student to find a job now

Most of my former colleagues are still jobless and my friend who got his
master degree in March this year is still looking for a job in Toronto now!
