8. The following appeared in a memo from the director of student housing at Buckingham College.

"To serve the housing needs of our students, Buckingham College should build a number of new dormitories. Buckingham's enrollment is growing and, based on current trends, will double over the next 50 years, thus making existing dormitory space inadequate. Moreover, the average rent for an apartment in our town has risen in recent years. Consequently, students will find it increasingly difficult to afford off-campus housing. Finally, attractive new dormitories would make prospective students more likely to enroll at Buckingham."

Write a response in which you discuss what specific evidence is needed to evaluate the argument and explain how the evidence would weaken or strengthen the argument.

提纲：
In this argument,the author advocates that Buckingham college should build a number of new dormitories in order to serve the future housing needs of their students. Although this argument might seem reasonable at first. It is in fact ill-conceived. The reasons are sited as follows.

In the first place, the arguer assumes that according to the increasing number of enrollment the college should build some new dormitories to server the current trends. Although it is possible, to some extent, the arguer offers no evidence to substantiate this crucial assumption.enrollment is growing and based on current trends 并不代表现在就一定要修建新的宿舍，因为修了之后也没有学生住。并且从现在的趋势并不能看出来未来几年的入学率就一定可以继续增长。Arguer只是考虑了一个假设并不意味着真实的入学率就会double.

In the second place,the arguer assumes that the average rent for an apartment in their town has risen in recent years. Therefore, students will find it increasingly difficult to afford off-campus housing.Nevertheless,there is no guarantee that it is necessarily case in point, and the arguer does not confirm the assumption.另外，镇上公寓涨价和学生担负不起房租并不存在着必然的联系。显然学生如果愿意出去住，那么这个学生一定是可以付得起租房的费用，而公寓涨价也被并不能代表其所长的价格学生就一定不能接受。

The last but not least , even if the evidence turns out to support assumptions, the arguer just simply assumes that the new dormitories will attract more students to enroll Buckingham college.新的宿舍并不会吸引更多的学生来报名buckingham college,因为学生对于学校的选择更多的是看这个学校的教学质量，学术成果，校园文化等。宿舍这种硬件设施固然重要，然而却不是学生选择学校最先考虑的因素。
To sum up,the argument mentioned above is not based on valid evidence.
因此，学校现下寝室充足的情况下在建造新的寝室显然是浪费资金的行为，即使建造好了也没有更多的学生要住，只有过上10年或者更多年之后宿舍才能完全注满。学校如想要吸引学生，则更应该将这笔钱花在提高教学质量，和聘请更高水平的老师
