The following appeared as a letter to the editor of anational newspaper.

"Your recent article on corporate downsizing* inElthyria maintains that the majority of competent workers who have lost jobs asa result of downsizing face serious economic hardship, often for years, beforefinding other suitable employment. But this claim is undermined by a recentreport on the Elthyrian economy, which found that since 1999 far more jobs havebeen created than have been eliminated, bringing the unemployment rate inElthyria to its lowest level in decades. Moreover, two-thirds of these newlycreated jobs have been in industries that tend to pay above-average wages, andthe vast majority of these jobs are full-time."

*Downsizing is the process whereby corporationsdeliberately make themselves smaller, reducing the number of their employees.

Write a response in which you discuss whatspecific evidence is needed to evaluate the argument and explain how theevidence would weaken or strengthen the argument.

The president of Grove College has recommended that thecollege abandon its century-old tradition of all-female education and beginadmitting men. Pointing to other all-female colleges that experienced anincrease in applications after adopting coeducation, the president argues thatcoeducation would lead to a significant increase in applications andenrollment. However, the director of the alumnae association opposes the plan.Arguing that all-female education is essential to the very identity of thecollege, the director cites annual surveys of incoming students in which thesestudents say that the school's all-female status was the primary reason theyselected Grove. The director also points to a survey of Grove alumnae in whicha majority of respondents strongly favored keeping the college all female.

Write a response in which you discuss whatquestions would need to be answered in order to decide whether therecommendation and the argument on which it is based are reasonable. Be sure toexplain how the answers to these questions would help to evaluate the recommendation.

G学院院长建议Grove学院放弃其已有百年历史的女校传统，允许录取男性。鉴于其他女校在实行男女同校后，学生申请数量增加。院长认为G实行男女同校一定会在申请和入学人数上都有大幅提升。但校友会的主席却反对该提议，并认为G的女校形式已经成为深入人心。在每年一度的新生调查中显示女校的性质是她们报考G的主要原因。另外在G校友中的调查显示绝大多数的回访者强烈建议保留女校传统。

其他的题都是一边倒的观点，很好驳斥，但这两题貌似很怪，不知道该驳什么。。。求指导

文章开头这句话写得很清楚啊...首先提到了编辑的观点，接下来一句话，this claim is undermined.....所以咯，结论就是与第一句相反啊，那些被裁员的员工的生活并不像那位编辑所说的那样艰难

个人的理解，本文要围绕放弃女校传统来写。这是文章的recommendation，校友的不赞同是针对该项建议的驳斥，其本身并没有建议一说。这类形式的文体是新G新推出的，所以尽量按照要求来进行论述是比较稳妥的。你的目的不是去支持哪一方，或者反对哪一方，而是要去找出两者理由的不合理处，并予以修正，使得他们的理由完善，以此来推论文章的建议是否合理。
