Precision Manufacturing Processes Laboratory (https://pmpl.okstate.edu) at Oklahoma State University welcomes to Ph.D. and Master applicants. Our research focuses on developing and improving the precision manufacturing performance based on the understanding of the fundamental process mechanism. The research application involves the fabrication of precision components in optics, biomecical, aerospace and electronics areas. We conduct both theoretical and experimental investigations on precision manufacturing process in order to reach high-quality surface finish, high geometric accuracy, and improved process efficiency. Our current research projects include: (1) Surface texturing of bulk metallic glasses for micro optics application; (2) Mechanics and dynamics of micro-cutting process; (3) Manufacturing for aerospace components; (4) Vibration assisted machining of brittle materials; (5) Vibration assisted drilling of bone.
