130 "How children are socialized today determines the destiny of society. Unfortunately, we have not yet learned how to raise children who can help bring about a better society."
The speaker asserts that the destiny of society depends on how children are socialized, and we have not yet learned how to raise children who can better society. I do agree with this statement, in term of how we define socializition and a better society.
Consider first the speaker's assertion that society's destiny depends on how children are socialized. Admittedly, socialization is a significant factor contributing to better our society, and children is the future of the world, even thoughalmost every parent expect to offer their child a fairy-tale childhood, socialization as a important step in children's early years should not be negligent, which influencing the whole life of children. For example, children learn to negotiate, cooperate and learn about the harmful results of bullying and other anti-society behavior by have some healthy interaction with friends or with the family. These lessons help children to grow up into tolerant and respectful citizen, who make the society to be more harmonious.
However, as long as we don't clear about what definition of socialization, there can be no children's socialization to speak of. Socialization can be considered not only to be cooperative and sociable but a ability to blend into and to contribute to the society. Nevertheless, society is an combination of the progress and the resolution, anyone who is eager to be a member of it should capable of know how to keep pace with it. Obviously, this capability is relevant toa ability of resolution. The destiny of society is always be renovated by the impulse of history——to challenge the traditional and don't persist with the ancient rules. That is the essential factors in the socialization of children.
Consider next the speaker's claim that
that we have not yet know how to raise children to be socialization for the purpose of better the society. Similarly, if we define a "better" society is only to tolerant differing viewpoints and peoplewho are different from ourselves, then contradict to the statement, I agree with that we know how to raise children to better society. However, the revolution plays a more substantial role in a ever-progress society, teaching children to become tolerant and cooperative people is helpless for children to accommodate themselves to society and make significant contributions to society. Instead of teaching children to grow up to be a "kind" people, it is more important to encourage children to discovery the potantial of innovation in their nature. Nevertheless, many parents barely educate their children to understand the importance of competitiveness and flexibility in present society. For example, nowadays, more and more students, wherever they are in high school, in college or even in graduate school, seeking a way to so-called freedom by committing suicides. Although, the causes of this situation is complex, lacking competitiveness and social acceptability is the primary one. This intensely intriguing illustration inspires that a huge defect in children's education——we do not know how to raise children who can help bring about a better society.
In sum, socialization is not only relevant to tolerance and cooperation among citizen, it is more about how to keep up with the pace of society's progress, and that need competitiveness and social acceptability what is exactly lacking in the education of children. |
