Issue130： How children are socialized today determines the destiny of society. Unfortunately, we have not yet learned how to raise children who can help bring about a better society.


The author claims that the destiny of society depends on children’s socialization and we are not ready how to help them to bring about better society. At first glance, it seems well reasoned; nevertheless, careful reflection informs me that these statements are overextended in two aspects. First, the author observes a correlation between the future of our society and children’s socialization, however, the point of this view to consider the matter is not completely full, because, there are many factors that destine the future of our society. Second, our communities and government all over the world have concerned about the children’s growth.


Firstly, consider about the author’s assertion that we have not yet learned how to raise children who can better society. I concede that children need extra attention both in physiological and psychological levels, but the speaker’s claim is extreme at some aspects. As the rapid social and technological change government pay a growing investment in education and pedagogy for our children to get a better education from which we find that government pay more attention to children’s growth. What more, a serious of measures and laws have taken to protect children’s right are not infringed. We can find that in many country parents are obliged to send their children to school and the school fee is often free for them. Similarly, children are not permitted to access some places such as bars and internet café. Many entertainments are prohibited to allow children to enter. Although, there are many unhealthy factors affect children’s healthy growth, children are live in a society with unprecedented sufficient both in material and spiritual environment such as high quality of instruction and faculties, advanced equipments in laboratories. Computers can help children to gain latest knowledge and communicate with other children more easily. Those people who over worried about the advanced technology will bring children a avalanche of negatives, but consider the cloning, at the beginning, so many contravenes and worries raised and now the technology are service to people. In sum, with correct guide, children will better our society under a good circumstance.


Second, the author argues that the destiny of future society is determined by the socialization children. I concede in some aspects that how children view the values and life system more or less influence the trend of our society in the future, however, how to better a society is not only depends on socialization children but also the culture and technology developed by all the human being from one generation to another generation. From the historical view, all the cultural such as language which we used to communicate with other people was developed by our ancestor and value system are formed by accumulating from the whole human civilization which has deeply shape our character. In this term, it is more likely that the whole human being have promoted the society rather than the socialization children have. We may inferred that it is true that socialization children have influence the trend of society and bring new blood and power to society, however, when we consider what shape the character of the children, we may informed that the inner sense of a child and civilization that determined the children how to communicate with other and how to behavior in the society. So, as I see, it is the children who bring new blood and power to promote our society, however the destiny of society is depend on many factors such as the civilization formed from generation to generation and technology developed by the whole human being. In short, the author’s claim is somewhat specious on count.


In conclusion, when we consider that the destiny of our society and how to raise children, one should consider many factors such as cultural and the existing material and spiritual civilization which have deeply shape our contemporary society. It is too hasty to generate that the destiny of society depends on socialization children and we have not learn how to raise children who better society.
