The reading passage raises the issue that the giant-impact theory contributed to the moon formation is unconvincable. However, this statement is strongly quesitoned by the lecture which provides drastically different evidences in three ways.

The professor begins by pointing that  so far there indeed is no trace found on the surface of the earth. The fact is that this collsion has taken place more than four million years ago that any trace would be erased by the force of the nature which disagrees with the viewpoint of the reading.

Then the professor goes on to maintian that the moon formed from the space rock that the high temperature caused by the movement would actually results the water evaporating.Thus there is no water on moon is not surprising. This point contradicts with the reading which claims that the moon should contian water because if the moon came from parts of the earth, there must be some similar material compostion.

Finally, the professor states that  the density of the moon is consistent with the surface of the earth for the reason that it is the surface part of the earth constitutes the moon not the core, which quite excellence proves the giant-impact is true. This viewpoint also casts doubt on the reading.

我也是看了你的综合才发现自己看反了,reading criticizes the theory and lecture questions this citicizes,类似于双重否定取反.看了你的写作three points and evidences非常到位,肯定是good级别。但其中use of English that is occasionally ungrammatical and unclear.
Then the professor goes on to maintian that if the moon formed from the space rock that (that删掉)the high temperature on the moon caused by the movement would actually results in the water evaporating(改为evaporation of water).Thus there is no water on moon is not surprising. This point contradicts with the reading which claims that the moon should contian water because if the moon came from parts of the earth, there must be some similar material compostion.

我看到最近的独立题目不是 机经所以就没写, 我打算从08年的机井开始 写。有意愿的一起加入?

How to fully use education resources for college students is a vogue question that has been discussed for decades. And now there are some controversial issues on whether college curriculum should contain difficult and challenging subjects. As for me I firmly contend that college should choose some special tough classes for students and the reasons go as follows.

To begin with, there are some intelligent students in class that only special subjects can meet their needs. For difficult or complex subjects are suitable for quite excellent students to advance their studies and if they indulge into those areas may bring surprising outcome. However, if those sorts of students compelled to study on the criterion of common students, they will feel boring and even lose themselves in the end. A case in point is that one of my college friends is highly interested in space physics, and during his high school he participated in a national model design competition and finally got the first place. However, our courses are so fundamental that he had little interest on them. Gradually he became inspirited and behaved even worse than other companions. What a pity losing such a genius! In this sense, it is wise to provide some challenging classes to inspire exceptional students' potential.


Another equally important factor accounting for my propensity lies in the fact that challenging subjects can develop students' creativity which will benefit their future development. Because challenging classes require students being familiar with lots of other fields' and then unify them together to undertake tasks. Taking my personal experience for instance, last summer I took part in a research group to find out the natural possible reasons that attribute to the air pollution of our city. It is such a intractable problem considering the knowledge one is supposed to acquainted with and the detail plan of this study to make. We discussed entirely one week and selected one plan from the hundred choices. After the whole month of study I benefited a lot like how to handle an emergency, how to consider a problem from a wide view as well as how to solve practical troubles. In short, challenging subject can make students more ingenious and Comprehensive.


In the final analysis, considering what has been discussed above. we can safely come to the conclusion that challenging classes in college can meet the needs of different students and can also enhance the  creativity of common students to better prepare for future. So I absolutely agree the suggestion that college curriculum should include challenging courses.

The lecture discusses the Tunguska explosion was due to a " swamp gas"  is not convincing which differs from the main idea in the reading.

First, the professor begins by pointing out that the lack of  fragments cannot fully prove the explosion wasn't the reason of asteriod exploding. For 19 years after the explosion, any traces would be destoryed by the force of nature. While the fragments found in the Canada was only two weeks after the meteoric explosion. The reading, in contrast, holds a different view, saying that if the explosion was resulted from the asteriod, something would be found like in Canada.

Then, the professor goes on to maintain that there was no crater becasue the asteriod can explode before hitting the ground that became into huge fireball.According to the author, however, the asteroid must caused a huge crater on land and the researchers cannot find one. Therefore, the lecture goes against what is presented in the reading.

Finally, the professor states that if the explosion was caused by the "swamp gas" the trees cannot find in one spot because there was no trace of single destrucation which challenges the standpoint made by the reading passage, which considers that based on the butterfly pattern of trees knocked sideways, it was the "swarp gas" bring the explosion

whether it is acceptable to give the same mark to group members is a prevalent topic undergoing serious debate. After pondering several aspects, I firmly contradict with such statement and the conspicuous reasons and instances go as follows.

To begin with, if everyone in the group get the same credit, there must be some bad influence on the whole group. Since any member in the team can get the equal payment then someone who are not studious enough will probably behave absenteeism or refuse to work on time. Those actions will absolutely delay the work process and decline the productivity. My high school classmate, Jerry, studying in Montana University, complained to me last month one of his partner didn't do any study work which would be graded the same as him. And almost all the job was done by him that no matter how hard he worked he cannot meet the deadline. So it is not wise to make the team member get the equivalent award for its potential problem that may bring up.


Another equally important factor accounting for my propensity lies in the fact that students achieve the same grade in a team is unfair . As it known to all, the responsibilities varied in a project that different positions acquire different people to take on. Thus if each one get an identical mark in a project, it is unfair for those who handle difficult and intractable sections. Persuasive instances refute this point are Apple and Carrefour, both of which have highly manifest evaluation system on the praise for workers. The payment is according to the employees' performances and the specific parts they do in a group. Apparently it is such a harmonious competition atmosphere that virtually results their success. And any group fail to realize this point will suffer serious outcome.



Finally, I want to mention that such evaluation can bring untoward influences for students' future development. For at school they get used to get the same grade in a group, after graduation they might likewise behave on job, being absente or reluctant to do extra work that doubtless would keep them away from success.

In brief, after the forgoing discussion, we can safely come to the conclusion that to give the same mark to students in a group is actually against with the spirit of teamwork and can cause the decrease of efficiency of the team, unfair award as well as the untoward outcome for students future study and work. So I totally disagree taking such way to evaluate students.

The lecture discusses people's doubt on the prescribed burning is invalid which differs from the main idea in the reading.

First, the professor begins by pointing out that fire is a powerful force of nature that prescribed burning can not only speed up the process of decay but also reduce ash. At the same time prescribed burning can bring some nutrients to the land.The reading, in constract , holds a different view, saying that prescribed burning causes serious air pollution and plays a role in global warming.

Then, the professor goes on to maintain that all the workers received training on  when, where, and how to burn that they can behave safely and under ecological goals, contradicting what is stated in the reading passage that prescribed fire is unpredictable and dangerous for there are lots of uncertain issues.Therefore, the lecture goes against what is presented in the reading.

Finally , the professor states that the cost of prescribed burning is relatively small compared to the loss of the home and family that fire resulted. Sometimes the loss of the fire is 10 times higher than the fee of  prescribed burning, which also challenges the standpoint made by the author who says that varied size and nature of the burn determines the cost ranging from $10 to $1,000 per hectare that is so expensive.

11.7 独立写作making decisions on our own or having some else making decisions for us.(08.2.2)


When concerning some important issues in life we need to choose which road to go forward. Depends on different personalities, life values, and background, people's opinions are varied on whether making decisions on our own or having someone else making for us. As for me I am in favor of people making decisions by themselves and the substantial reasons go as follows.

To begin with, the first reason why I advocate making decisions on our own ascribes the sake that we are the person who most familiar with the situations when confronted by choices. Other people even family members or good friends may not know us well. Examples as such are numerous. For instance, when I have to choose a major for my college study. My mother and father insisted on me learning Internet science with the expectation for my future job. My best friend, Jerry suggested me choose chemistry because I did quite well in chemistry learning. However, Internet science might be an excellent choice for finding a decent job after four years study and I can grasp chemistry with ease. The most important for me is that I am infatuated in biology science and I always believe that interest is the best tutor not only on school study but also concerning on the whole life journey. And I chose the biology in the end. Thus, it is wise for us making decisions by our own hand.


Another equally important factor accounting for my propensity lies in the fact that most decisions made by ourselves can motive us struggle hard. And a recent research published in human development confirmed this point. In this study two groups of students, for age 12-17, were compelled to accomplish a same task. One group was guided by a professional teacher helping them to decide on every tiny step during the process. While the other group of students only being provided necessary articles. The result of this study shows that students making their own decisions on how to finish the task behave more studious and higher efficiency. When asked about those children why they were quite different from other ones they all pointed out that there seemed more responsibilities and pressure inspiring them work harder than before. Similarly, in my own life I always perform better on particular things I determined for myself. Most obviously, people's own decisions usually can bring striking influence to benefit progress thus it is perfect for making decisions on our own.


However, we have to admit that sometimes others’ suggestions are helpful and necessary. For sometimes they view the same matter from a different aspect that may draw different conclusions. If we happen to come across some intractable or paradox decisions, we should ask others' help or advices on how to make decisions.


In the final analysis, after discussed above, we can safely come to the conclusion that considering we know the decisions deeper than others and the impetus that making decisions on our own may bring to us. I totally agree that people make decisions by themselves rather than having someone make decisions for us.
