In the lecture, the professor states that the evidence in the reading passage inconvincible to support the idea that imported species has more negative effects than advantages, by giving specific reasons and instances.


First, the professor begins by pointing out that introduced species do not always bring harm to the local animals and plants. It is actually true that imported species has stronger competitiveness for food and accommodation. But this is not the fact that the decrease number of frogs, salamanders, mussels and crayfishes in North America. The reasons of those animals number decline are related to pollution and infectious diseases. In contrast, the reading, holds a different statement, saying that the introduced species destroy the native species.

Then, the professor goes on to maintain that introduced species can benefit local ecological system rather than damage. To reinforce this idea, professor argues that those imported and new species represent opportunity for the agriculture development, research, and managing the environment. Therefore, the lecture goes against with what is presented in the reading.

Finally, contrary to the belief in the reading that introduced species may cause economic burden on the region, the professor says that imported species bring economic gain to the local people. One instance for this is that mesquite has become the shelter and water resource for other animals. And the mesquite can be used as fire wood, producing huge profit.

First, the professor begins by pointing out that birds can  only use the sun to guide their directions in the day time. But there are many  kinds of birds flying at night. So the birds navigate by using the sun is in doubt. Moreover, only one species of birds utilize the star as the guidance. And it is still uncertain that other birds whether use the star to navigate. In contrast, the reading holds a different statement, saying that both sun and star can direct the birds navigation.

Then the professor goes on to maintain that birds navigate is not according to landmarks. Because if birds can recognize those toporgraphical cues, they must make the journey before. However, some birds can find their way home even when the routine is strange. Thus the lecture goes against with what is presented in the reading.

Finally, contrary to the belief in the reading that birds can sense the earth's magnetic field to navigate, the professor says that birds actually  can identify the North and South of the Earth magnetic. But obviously, it is not enough for birds to locate specific locations and will be difficult for them to reach the destination.

2009 a humorous and easygoing teacher is more efficient than serious and strict teacher?

What qualities a good teacher should bear is drawing great attention currently. Depends on different experiences, personalities, and life values, the answers are divergent. Some one hold the opinion that a serious and strict teacher is more efficient than a humorous and easygoing teacher.However, from the perspective of my view, I totally disagree with such statement and my reasons and instances go as follows.


First of all, it goes beyond doubt that a humorous and easygoing person can make the atmosphere more alive and interesting. As it known to all, everyone like to talk to with a humorous guy, because such people can relieve our pressure or upset by talking some jokes and stories.  Thus, to some extent, we can get refreshed and energized through talking to a humorous person. Similarly, a humorous teacher can make the serious class atmosphere more interesting which is beneficial for students to learn more. A case in point is that my high school math teacher, Mr Cheng, a very humorous and easygoing person, who usually chat with us and can put the tough questions in an easy understandable way. So our class is interesting and everyone like it.

Another reason accounting for my propensity lies in the fact that humorous teacher can strengthen the relationship between students and teacher. When students confronted by some difficulties or get into a dilemma, they are more likely to turn to an easygoing person. Because they can share the unhappy experience with that kinds of people. With a humorous and easygoing teacher along side is most important when students can not find answers on assignments. In that case, students can explain the troubles to the teacher in detail, because they trust the teacher, and that students can learn more efficiently. The teacher will be more responsible to teaching to meet students’ expectations. In short, this close association is a win-win situation for students and teacher.



However, as everything is a double-edged sword, beneficial and necessary of a humorous and easygoing teacher may be. A teacher with those qualities is not without  problems. One of the drawbacks concerns on how humorous of the teacher is. If all the students do not obey the teacher's orders just because the teacher is too easygoing that virtually losing the stateliness  So it is crucial for teachers to handle properly with their humor and tolerance. Otherwise, those good qualities may be counterproductive.


In sum, after the previous discussion, because a humorous and easygoing teacher can not only make the day more alive and interesting and also promote the relationship between teachers and students. So every teacher should not ignore such features. Although, considerable the disadvantages of the such teacher may bring to us, it cannot compete with its benefits.

Children's cultivation is the most concern among parents . In oder to give their kids best growing and study environment, most parents do not ask children do any chores at home. However, from the point of my view, I approve the idea that young children should required to help do some housework at home besides studying and playing.

To begin with, children will benefit to become more independent according to do some chores. Learning to do some housework can prepare children better for futuer  life and study. As it known to all, children will leave parents someday to seek their own freedom and lives. So mastering some living technicans is imperative. And those kids who have little experience on housework would doubltess suffer severe difficult when they are alone. A case in point is that my cousin, Ernie, do nothing at home and even not tidy him room. Last summer when he went to beijing to take part in a crum. For all the carm members requried to take care of themselves during the period. Ernie cannot adapt to this independent life and finally have to give up. At the same time other members got well with the life and enjoyed a happy and meaningful summer. What a pity if a child can not behave independently when confronted by challenges.


Furthermore, helping parents with housework can enable young kids understand their parents and behave more responsible. Sometimes, when children do the chores they can become familiar with life and understand their parents postitions. For instance, if one child asked to buy some rice and meat in the market. They need compare different kinds of type on price, quality, and preference, and make decisions on their own which all of this would teach them understand how difficult of life is. In turn, they will behave more considerate and responsible. And more importantly, with those characteristics they are more likely to succeed in future job and career.


However, if children only care on studying and playing, there may be some undesirable outcomes. One of the obivious drawbacks is that children might become more and more obstinate and contrary. Because they bear in mind that their work is only to study and play, so they will have lots of requirements and expectations on parents. Thus it is counterproductive.

In brief, after the forgoing discussion, we can safely come to a conclusion that doing some chores at home is benefical on students' future development and helps children become more considerate and reponsible. While only study and play will bring considerable disadvantages to our kids. So it is advisable to ask children help parents do some chores.

In order to success one should be more like others than be different from everyone else?

How to success is the most concern among modern people. And currently, there is an increasing number of people begin to argue that one should be more like others than be different from everyone else to achieve success. After considering carefully, I totally disagree with such idea with following conspicuous reasons and instances.

To begin with, sometimes if you force yourself to behave the same as surrounding people you will feel tedious and resulting negative influence on your development. In order to success or get promotion, many people are inclined to follow other successful models. But sometimes, such behavior is nonsense and even counterproductive. A case in point is that my philosophy teacher, Mr Li, once majored in Internet that most people admired. However, he felt boring and even tedious, and that he nearly lost himself because he had little interest and inclination on internet. Finally depending on his interest on philosophy he made a decision and changed his major. And now he enjoys a happy life with his family and work. But if he continued to study in Internet no one can predict the results. In short, sometimes act similarly as others with the aim to success is harmful.

Another reason accounting for my propensity lies in the fact that some cases in order to success, we should be different from others.  Here I want to illustrate a persuasive instance to reinforce my ideas. Having received almost no formal education, Lincoln embarked on a quest to learning and self-improvement. He read incessantly, beginning as a youth with Bible and Shakespeare.  During his single term in the House of Representatives, his colleagues considered it humorous that Lincoln spent his leisure time poring over books. The result of this distinctive action and habits between his companions is the powerful intellectual revealed in his speeches and writings. And how can he persuade his listeners during the civil war if he lack of those skills. So it is obvious that in order to success people need to be different from others on certain cases.

However, being different from others actually does not mean you should totally act differently. That is, you should have your own features and characteristics and you also need to learn values from others to advance. Thus you should handle it properly to make full use of your resources and at the same time keep your own notable characteristics.

In brief, from the previous discussion, we can safely come to the conclusion that too similar with others might make you feel tedious and at some cases you should behave differently to achieve success. So try our best to assimilate the good values from others and simultaneously develop our own specialties is the best way to success.

scientist shoud be responsible for the negative effects made by their discoveries?

Among the burgeoning of science and technology, our life is undergoing dramatic advancement. However, compelling the prosperity aspects of technology brings to us, there are also some negative impacts resulting from those high technologies. And there are an increasing number of people begin to argue that scientists should be responsible for the negative effects produced by their discoveries. As for me, I am contrary to such statement with following reasons and instances.


To begin with, the negative effects that appear around our lives are not caused by scientists. Scientist study new and efficient technologies with the primary purpose to serve human beings. And the untoward outcomes associated with the benefits are largely due to people's ignorance. Like the pesticides if not used properly will pollute our environment and even destroy ecosystem. The reason for such undesirable results is the abuse of this chemic composition not the scientists.


Another essential factor accounting for my propensity lies in the fact that if scientists required to pay for the negative impacts made by their discoveries, it will doubtless inhibit the pace of society development. For it is quite obvious that if people asked to be responsible for their actions, people will behave more carefully and refuse to risk to make sure all the things will be right. However, such spirit would prevent scientists experimenting their new ideas and consequently will severely decrease the creativity. So it is impossible for scientists bringing new methods to cure diseases, new crops with high nutrition, and substantial fuels to relieve our energy shortage. Thus if scientists should be responsible for their discoveries' negative effects, there will be less innovations in future.

In brief, from the previous discussion, we can come to the conclusion that the negative effects are not produced by the scientists and there might be some bad effects on scientists creativity if they required to be responsible for their discoveries. Thus I am convincing that scientists should not be responsible for the negative impacts of their discoveries.
