Rifely established as an essential determinant in learning outcomes, memory work is nothing but the rudimental trick of knowledge acquiring of the human mind. Therefore, the
fact that only gradually is the by-product of mnemonic approaches noted, and only more gradually still is this effect considered as a crucial factor in learning efficiency, is reason to indicate that the proposal, which calls for the priority of studying concepts, ideas, and trends rather than memorizing facts, sounds a little absolutistic.

Much as we may impugn the rote-memorization for its efficiency, we are no longer free to throw it into the discard, for repeating facts could exert a positive influence on learning. In dealing with the foundational knowledge, such as phonics in reading, anatomy in medicine, cases in law, basic formulas in any science, students in turn rest upon the rote memorization to bear these in mind. In the meantime, retaining facts before moving towards details impels the forming of an overview. Rather than disconnected bits of information to memorize, such as history dates, the material fits together within an overall framework as a way to enhance our comprehension of specific contained. What’s more, it is also a trick to which many educationists subscribe, extraordinarily for students to grasp some complex subjects at an advanced level, due to the fact that, to certain extent, only through the perplexity or curiosity emerging from parrot-like repetition can the tenor be generalized, reflection inspired, intellect exploited, and perception deepened. Consequently, what they have been imbued with by rote, as we can say, is far more than expected.
Equally, what the proposal advocates also enables a substantial appreciation for knowledge in respect that deliberating ideas, trends, and concepts that enunciate the facts amounts to a facilitator in memorization. It is catholically acknowledged that retaining a political event requires a lucid mastery of its date, origin, course, and results involved, all of which serve as clues for memorizing. Consider once again our medical students. Let us suppose here comes a patient with ill-defined symptoms, yet you are armed with only facts instead of causes and hints of contraindications that seem to be trivial but of fairly credibility, how do you handle it? This alone account for the weightiness of details, just confirming the proverb that the devil is in the details.
There lies likehood, notwithstanding, that when you embark on particulars unduly, you are entering a thick fog or a boundless infinite galaxy, swarmed with tides of messages utterly in a mess. Even though disorderly details can be compiled and reorganized, nevertheless the process must always be a sheer time-consuming complication and what ultimately impart to you is nothing less than a tiny bit of dust.
As the case each mnemonic technique has its merits, how to determine which to be adopted is genuinely a quandary facing many people today. It may be said that the chief business with these two approaches is to secure the efficiency and validity of memorization. Hence, nothing could be compared with the optimum of an alternative that clinching to an apposite one in accordance with a concrete learning condition.
