the passage discusses a malfunction of the us intelligence agency, to this systemic failure ,the president gave a withering assessment on the security system, which heated the fierce partisan debate over the defense system.

this argument seems more likely a partisan interest. both party pointed out the deficiencies of each other. there is advantage as well as drawback on the regime, the advantage is the republic can supervise the democrats and so do democrats, hence the public benefit. also drawback is here when the parties just criticize to get rid of the duty . it seems that on this breach the parties blames each other

the ultimate questions always keep us thinking, though in myriad forms. this passage express the beauty found when exploring the law of nature. so far the theory we have found even astonishes ourselves. however this beauty is hard to appreciate. to perceive the beauty of comas, we need training and attention , even solitude. while, when you find it, you can not let go. the author develop a deep love toward the nature. compared with carrying our animal need to an absurd extreme , we should devote to the deep congruence, which shape our mind and faith to respect the nature and integrate into the Mind of Cosmo.

with the effect of global warming and the determination to exert more influence over the world , the canadian begin their exploration on the Far North. the project includes a harbour construction for fishing fleet, the cabins upgrade for the polar-bear research, an overhaul to the atmospheric laboratory and housing mending.
but all these is not the purpose. more activity will emerge in the Arctic region, the potential conflicts could follow. thus a military distribution is necessary for canada to protect their interest and claim more. though the political system is unstable ,all the parties contend the rush to develop the far north is nation priority.

the passage expresses the feeling of the author toward movie , from the film-made one to the digital and the 3-D. despite some one claims that the movie is dead, the author prefers the digital technology. audience can still be attracted and locked into the story , moreover, another possibility is presented that liking a video game , the watcher can even particapate the movie and interact with it in the future. as far as I know , zhou guoping is a contemporary poet and philosopher . I had read some poem by him, most of which are short but meaningful.
this article presents a special idea of the author about the bewildering value system of modern people, especially those who after a struggle in market economic , winner or loser , all felt lost somehow. the righteousness and mean, both controlled by the external belief, all led to a boring life, since the two attitudes lack the pursuit of individual, this is individuality.  

the author creates a new interpretation to philosophy of life, by which one can feel contented about himself. however, just as the author 's explanation, I don't think this is an effective way in today , especially in china. the era we belong can be described as what Dickens had written in his famous novel , "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness" . both righteousness and mean are important in the forming of a civilized society . during the first three decades of new china, great mistake is made by eliminating the personal property, resulting a low production and very insufficient supply of common requisite. it is a passive righteousness, followed by nothing but tragedy. while in the following years of reforming and opening-up, most of the chinese can feed himself. Mean take over the stage.

this passage is trying to define the nature of eternity from a philosophy perspective.
there are four questions to be presented and answered.

a:is time not eternal?
b:the endless and infinite changing of things in time VS eternity ??
c:the free will become necessary in god 's eternal present ?
d:good rewarded and wicked punished ?

I usually thought time has an eternal nature. but now I admit that the author is persuasive and come to believe that time is not eternal.
only when standing out of the time stream can the God see what happen in time. just like a Chinese poet had written, it looks different in various angle just because you are surrounded into the mountains. God is more like an observer who just watch. I am enlightened by a serials in one of my favorite --fringe.

the second question, as the speaker had claimed, the endless and infinite changing just try to imitate eternity. to better understand this one , another question must be answered , that is : is the universe created by God? if so, why he try to imitate himself. just as what human being has always tried---a robot. as to the C, I agree that as a omnipresent being and watching in eternal present, what done by free will become necessary. but the d question, I 'd like to think it is out of a beautiful wish of human rather the principle of god.

this passage talks about two book on martial subject by two author, a new memoir by the Gilbert and a book by Powell.
the martial subject has ruled the literary scene. Gilbert, according to the passage, once wrote a best-seller and is a conversational writer. for this new book and her readers, the Gilbert traveled to many places, and did many research. however, this new book turns to be disappointed. the content seems chatty and sometimes boring;  the other one describes heavy taste, scattered with a piece of advice , which for readers is hard to believe. nevertheless, this passage show favors to the latter one a little.
