In this argument, the professor made the point that a shift from a four-day workweek to a five-day workweek do not benefit money-saving of companies and drop down of employment rate as well as pursues of employees. On the contrary, the writer demonstrated a contradictory idea that the national economy and enterprise and workers will enjoy many benefits due to the four-day workweek, which is general recognized by numerous employees.

In the first place, the speaker refutes the view point showed in the passage that the reduced paycheck to employees as well as improved efficiency resulted from fewer task and the possibility of less error will lead to the increase of companies by saying that companies won't save money for they will spend much money on training of new employees. In addition, more computer and office space will cost an amount of money as a result of additional employees.

In the second place, the lecturer further dismisses the second argument in the essay, which holds the belief that the rate of employment would not reduce when considering the employers' options. The article boasts more people will get jobs possibly since margin workload must be done by additional job-hunters. However, the arguer immediately specifies that by overtime of the work and raising expect--the original workload of five day is finished in four day--, on additional jobs can be created. And the employer may consider that the current job is more pleasure.

Lastly, the professor states that shorten time is bad for the abilities of employees and harm the chance for their promotion which challenges the stand point made by the author that employee will enjoy a high quality of their lives. Furthermore, four day workweek could make employee lose their jobs when the economy is in recession.

To sum up, the lecturer discusses the disadvantages brought by the four-day workweek which differs from the main idea in the reading material that the whole economy and business and individuals can benefit from the new mechanism.
