The speaker asserts that many of the world’s lesser-known languages are on the edge of dying out, which is fairly true, because the whole world paces faster and faster on modernization and globalization. In this case, languages spoken by minorities find they are of no use when facing communication with the outside. Therefore, since globalization benefits the growing economics in general, the government should act to not only prevent such languages from disappearance but create a method to help its people exchange information with the globe. . Starting our discussion in a fairly small scale of view, people speaking minority languages are willing to learn a new language, because mastering a wider-used language helps them make more benefits to themselves and their families. The principle of economics has a fundamental assumption that every person who is dealing with profit or income is regarded as economic man. That is to say, when someone is framed by its speaking language which prevents him from making money to meet the outcome, he will absolutely figure out a path to pursuit a greater profit, and apparently, learning a new language is such a way. Unfortunately, learning a new language which has been widely used is not as simple as it looks. Only under the government’s guide and support would the process of learning a language go smoothly and successfully. . What government should concern would involve a larger scope of perspective that is to balance the payoffs between gaining profit as a whole and putting traditional core culture in dangerous. Therefore, different levels of administrations have different responsibilities toward this issue. .
The local government stands much more close to its citizens, which requires it to do more on bring opportunities for profits to its people. Since the area is restricted by its speaking language, the most urgent task for local government is getting a wider-used language become prevalent, which is education to be exactly. Conducted by a new language, learners will get familiar with its original speaker’s culture, ideology and value of perspective. Therefore, after being restrained by the old language for so many years or decades, they eventually find a way to break through kinds of barriers towards an intriguing outside world. Now the door is open. Investments is going to flood into the area while the original citizens will bring back what they learn to home. As this virtuous circle is picturing an increasing economic and a prosperous living surroundings, people become worried about their original speaking language from dying off. .
Since the original language is not as functional as the new one, fewer and fewer people speak it. It is now the higher administration’s responsibility to help the original one remain as a representative of cultural heritage. The national government should enhance the education of the original language among school-year-student. This is a way to ensure its culture echoes through eternality, since every young generation masters the original language. Additionally, the national government may ask outside world for help. Therefore, the government would have enough money to funds organization, so that the financial need of preventing cultural invasion would not be the problem. This organization would guide the society to maintain its tradition and cultural essence by publishing books, giving lectures and setting TV programs and etc. Under the cooperation within the administration system, a balanced solution is going to be found and a win-win consequence will be achieved. .
Every time when people dealing with issue involve culture and economic benefits, they do not know which side to take. The culture is inherited generation by generation that we are afraid to lose any part of it while the economic benefits is basically all that what we need to survive in such a competitive world. It is really a tough task for the government to protect its lesser-known language as a core representative of is culture and build up a promising economic to satisfy the needs. What the ideology should the government prevail among its citizen is that the original language marks people’s homeland and beliefs while the second one is just a tool making the original culture flourish.
