    Human beings are facing problems along with their existence. Today, our lives have been made easier with modern technology, which is the reason that we underestimate the difficulties faced in the past. Technology has brought us effective ways to solve problems, but it confronted us new problems at the same time. We are indeed facing more complex and challenging problems than before, and this illusion will disappear when we try to put ourselves in that situation.
    It is true that some social problems have been improved, but advances in technology might determine the complexity of the problems. With the development of science and technology, human civilization advances.  Some problems and conflicts we found very tough to solve before--racial discrimination, health and illness problems, and conflicts among ideologies--have been improved significantly. However, the author oversimplified certain unique to today's world, which are more complex and challenging than in the past. Early people made great strives in overcoming the obstacles of nature, while presently people have to consider the control of nuclear weapons, extend population, human cloning, which are definitely more complicated than those problems faced by our predecessors.
   After illustrating the reality, let's take a further analysis. With the development of science and technology, the knowledge and experience we are rely on to solve problems are more abundant and accurate than before. New technology provide us eaiser ways to solve problems. On the other side of the coin, some more complex and challenging problems are the productions  of the new technology at the same time. When network was born, many problems have been solved with great easy-- sharing materials, communicating, distance learning, etc. At the same time, problems such as cyberbunks,  personal information security , spreading of junk messages grown up. In order to solve these problems, more advanced and better organized technology has been investigated and introduced. As a result, network technology is well developed nowadays catering  for customers' needs, though there are still problems existing. The changing of human society is mixed exactly in this "problem solving-creating" process, that is the driving force of development.
     The illusion should be dispelled, of course, but how? The only way for us is to try to put ourselves in that situation and to think on a realistic basis. The society is developing, we cannot simply judge the complexity and difficulty of the early problems through today's perspective.More over, the nature of the problems have changed over time, we should consider the problem both in past and present under certain circumstances.  For example, our ancestors were highly dependent upon nature, any nature calamity would hit the masses toward extent of destruction, so, to our ancestors, any calamic change--flood, drought, hail--can arouse extent famine and large amount of death. Today we found solutions to these problems, and  calamity elements will no longer be a deadly disaster for most of us.  
     To sum up, human race are facing various problems along with their existence. Surely, we are facing more complicated and frustrated problems than before, but we can not ignore that we are relying on  more abundant and accurate knowledges to solve them. The nature of problem has changed, and so do their existential circumstances. So, this complex issue should depends on a case-by -case analysis.
