In my view, education will be effective when it is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student. However, current conditions cannot match this standard, and education diversification will make a significant improvement.

To make our point more clear, we need give some definitions and note first:
Individual needs contain many aspects, such as skills for hunting a job or living. Basically, we can divide them into two parts. The first one includes the needs that children have realized (NR), for example, most of us know that computer skills is indispensable, we need to learn them. The other contains needs that students still don’t realize (NNR). For instance, some of teenagers wander why they have to spend so much time on the curriculums like laws and morality; they just don’t realize it will help them to be wonderful persons.
Based on personal experience, current education includes also two aspects. One is Formal Education (FE), the other is Informal Education (IFE). Definition of FE can be those educations held in classes, and others are called IFE. IFE includes various approaches to collect and learn knowledge to meet one’s needs. For example, information from Internet or libraries, knowledge from an interesting travels, gains from a magic team works, experience from part time jobs and so on.

The first part of my point is that when education is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student, it will be effective. There are several reasons. First, understanding the content of individual needs, we can safely claim that education will be effectual if it meets personal needs. For example, laws and morality can teach youths to do right things and reduce the rate of teenagers’ criminals. Skills, like computer, driving, can help students to find jobs. Moreover, education is also effective if it meets personal interests. It is well known that if we are interested in something, the efficiency of learning it is greatly improved. Sometimes new creations and contributions can be made now. For example, most of science discovers and inventions are provided by scientists who have special interests in them. Based on all these, I can prove my point.

However, current conditions are not sufficient to guarantee every student obtaining special education. One of the most important reasons is that educational resources are insufficient. For example, even in America, the resources cannot meet every child’s need. Usually, many schools face the problems like lacking of classrooms, books, computers and labs. Things are worse in some districts of China, India and South Africa. Without enough resources, many children’s educational opportunities are damaged; don’t mention meeting their personal needs and interests.

Moreover, in my view, diversification of education will improve the situations significantly and make it more likely to meet individual needs and interests. We obtain this claim based on the definitions and content of current education. In classes, most of knowledge can guarantee our basic needs in earlier lives. Examples of morality and laws can also be used to support this view. In addition, as the development of science and technology, various kinds of education appear. For instance, one can receive a degree by enrolling online courses. Other examples of education diversification such as online lecture, forum, discussion, consultation, etc. can be easily proposed. Students can download videos, e-books and notes when they need, can search their interested stuffs on Google or yahoo and can also discuss or share their interests by MSN, QQ or face-book. All these improvements are due to the education diversification.

In other words, everyone should be taught with life skills ----- logical, thinking, analysis, creative problems rather than just knowledge which is essential for our children to survive freely in the complex and rapid changing world In other word, through education, everyone should equip with abilities of logic, thinking, analysis and creation, which guarantee them to survive freely in the complex and rapid changing world. In short, some education such like primary school level is so fundamental that it is people’s living ability not our interests and we cannot choose to avoid it but accept it (In short, some education, like that in primary school level, is toward personal living ability not one’s interest; and we cannot choose or avoid but accept it.).

On the other hand, the fact, which we usually ignore, is that primary level students almost do not know what they need and what they are interested in. They are aware of what kind of education teaching material and even school rules is most appropriate to such age of the students

Technically, we cannot neglect one truth: Our education condition has not developed to such a situation which can (are not sufficient to) provide every student teaching in accordance of their aptitude. As common sense tells us that it will require a large number of educators if we popularize this method of education (educational method). On the other hand, we will be lack of (lack) a system to judge the students’ capability.
Finally, I should concede there is one exception, the gifted students (geniuses), who can master subjects much earlier and learn more quickly that (than) the average. These children should modified curriculum or may progress through academic subjects at an accelerated pace (这句是什么意思). Thus, special education services and facilities should enhance (are needed to enhance) their ability of understanding more abstract and complicated ideas. In other words, schools should offer advanced education (高等教育的意思,elective education) such as mathematics, science, technology, the arts and other academic disciplines which is appropriated to the students’ aptitudes which is designed to meet the need of gifted students (to those gifted students ). However, such gifted students are really rare (这句不要了,否则看到这里就会没感觉了).

总体来说作者的用词都比我强,指一些比较书面的词,可是根据个人的愚见,作者的这篇文章思维不是很清晰,有些地方(我是
law and morality的例子)重复使用了,当然了我本身的作文水平很差,有什么说的不对的地方希望stone同学不要生气^_^!!!

Education is one of the key words in modern society, and there is always much contravercy on how to make education more effective. At the first blush, it is tempting to agree on the speaker's assertion that effective education is which meets individual needs and interests, based on that interests and needs are the motivation and purpose of efficient study. However, my personal exprience and actual obersvation to the life tell me the statement is unrealistic and empirical.



I concede that individual needs and interests might be the purpose and motivition of efficient study. It is bored to undertake a work with no interests and personal pursuits. Morevoer, without intresets and needs, individual's creativity and potential would hard to be inspired, which easily results in ineffectivity and inefficiency. That is also why Einstein could not be a qualified clerk in his early life but a prominent physicist later.



Yet, as we all know, education aims at raising responsible citizens who can better our society. Therefore, truly effective education is also one that can guide students to meet the requirements of society. It should point out a correct and valuale direction for students' interests, needs and great efforts on study, and make contributing to society become common values. In contrast, to overemphasize students' interests and needs might has opposite effect. If so, beside the intresets on immoral or illegal behaviors cannot be allowed, we would be haunted by the prospect of uneven distribution of human resources. For example, if most students interest on nature science, but little on humanities and social sciences, then the society would lacks of people who research on art, economy, politics and so on. It would undoubtly hamper development.



Furthermore, as the speaker say, our modern educational model, which lasts for at least a hundred years, might be not effective at all. Because there is no possibility to meet each student's needs and interests with the limitied funds, teachers, equipments and so forth. However, as we all know, our society now is more civilized and advanced than ever before. It proves that students under contemporary education system create a better society, which certainly adheres to the purpose of education. Then, it would be irresponsible to say our eduction is ineffective.

There is no doubt that education should pay more attention on the needs and interest of students. However, it is impossible for education to satisfy every student. Meanwhile, whether education is effective or not is merely rarely determined by it meet the individual needs and interests of every student.

To the best of our knowledge, since one of goals of education is to develop students' professional and technological skills, it is needs and interests that play an important role for students as to attain this goal. On a personal level, students without interests will fail to attain motivation in studying and as a result he might teeter in the way to success. On a social level, if we ignore interests and needs of students, the endeavor of students would serve to failure and frustrate the whole society because everyone follow the way they does not like absolutely and they can not do the best with what God gives them. A saying “Interest is the best teacher” goes by celebrated physicist Albert Einstein expresses many people. The apt example involves the famous scientist Qian Xuesen. When he was young, he was interests on chemistry and paid vast majority of time on it. During the learning time he even made a bomb by himself which successfully exploded. Thanks to his interest on science and his untiring endeavor Qian Xuesen turned out to be an outstanding scientist who made important contribution to missile program of both the United States and China. Therefore, it is vital that our education should be placed on interests and needs of students.

Having recognized the importance of needs and interests of students, by no means should we deny   it is impossible for education to satisfy every student. On the one hand, actually, the sources for education, such as teachers, schools, school canteens and dormitories, are limited while every student' need and interest appear to be different. Suppose one student is interested on golf, so do we have to sacrifice large land for his golf course? On the other hand, when it involves base subjects, such as mathematics, physics and so on, which are not welcomed by many students, should we discard them just for interest and needs of those students? Hence, it is obviously far away from facts and rarely meaningful if we try our best to fulfill ever students' interests and needs.

In the final analysis, not only does the aim of education involve the development of the technological and professional skills, but also it involves help students to build correct worldviews and value systems. According the definition of the aim of education by United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization in 1996, the definition involves learning to do as well as learning to be. If we just guide students merely according to their interests and teach them to “learn to do”, while ignoring other indispensable elements, such as patriotism and justice, which can attribute to “learning to be”, it’s believed that education in our perspectives would come out to be defective. In a result, the students would suffer. And if students suffer, the world suffers.

首先,还是那个建议,文章写好的时候别急急忙忙贴到帖子,先用word检查拼写,这样方便别人也方便自己.我原来都标红了,但是放上来的时候都没了,郁闷。你觉得看的不方便可以问我要修改的word版,呵呵。



全文的思路挺清楚:个人的兴趣很重要,但考虑教育的目的是服务社会,然后说事实告诉我们speaker的说法是站不住脚的,最后应该平衡个人兴趣和社会目的。



最后两段,似乎表述的是一个意思。结尾也是把上面一段重新简单复述了一下,这样我觉得不好。但我也没想到说什么好,我再想想。

I basically concede the speaker’s assertion that in current society education should be designed to meet each student’s demand and interest,after all students are the main body of study,if only teacher-centered education while ignoring student’s interets is proved counterproductive.However,we cannot ignore the key purpose of education is for wide public,if only care about students’ unreasonable desires would also result in chaos in education.

In the first place,I basically agree with the speaker insofar that different students have different interests ,hence shoule be treated with disparity.Without considering individual needs and interests, education cannot be effective to students.Let’s take ourselves for example, when we are very young ,we have many cute desire for some fields,many want to learn drawing ,many want to study dancing,and many want to know how to play a piano and so forth.Think about what will result from a child who want to play a piano but be forced by parents to learn violin,of course,we can know that he can not learn both well.Student when young always owe different dreams,so education should be distinguished to meet individual need and interest .
What’ s more,student-centered education can inspire every student’s potential ability.Student show a unique ability when they are kids.Let’s take Gauss for example,who was a great mathematician ,when he found a easy way to add from one to 100,he exhibited his genius on math,so his math teacher began to lay more emphasis on his math.With his own diligence and teacher’s specific cultivation,he ultimately became a outstanding mathematician .

On the other hand, we cannot ignore the integrity teaching environment . Students has to be obliged to take some necessary courses. Too concern about their individual needs is not good for students themselves.From elementary school,there are many necessary courses such as histroy,politics and so on ,though not all students want to be political leaders or histrorians when they grow up. Those couses ‘s purpose is to teach student how to think and know more about the basic knowledge of the world.Furthermore, there are so many difference between different students,if education pay attention to every student will cost too much.Commen sense tell me that mass education which is popular in current society is difficult to meet particular demand of students.And when students are young kids,they possible don’t know exactly what demands and interests they necessarily need from education.Unless a single teacher only care about few students,but in today’s educated situation ,this is not widespread.

Of course, in today’s rapidly changing economic society,education should keep path with development.Educators and experts cannot absolutely emphasize pure teacher-centered education or student-centered education.Instead ,they should adopt flexible teaching method and form.For example, in universities, there are may compulsory courses such as English,philosophy and physical education.At the meantime,according to their interests and ulterior career goal, students can choose their favorable major to take.For instance,someone who want be a banker could take finance,somebody want to dedicate in news could make mass communication as his or her major.What’s more, students should be encouraged to take more physical exercise in the outside ,the exams of basic courses cannot be the only way to weigh students’ ability.

To sum up, try hard to meet the individual needs and interests of each student is the one of the main responsibilities of educators. At the meantime, the whole society should pay more emphasis on the students ‘s all-round ability instead of blindless attention to their particular demand.

On the other hand, when it involves base subjects, such as mathematics, physics and so on, which are not welcomed by many students, should we discard them just for interest and needs of those students? Hence, it is obviously far away from facts and rarely meaningful if we try our best to fulfill ever students' interests and needs.

In the final analysis, not only does the aim of education involve the development of the technological and professional skills, but also it involves help students to build correct worldviews and value systems. If we just guide students merely according to their interests and teach them to “learn to do”, while ignoring other indispensable elements, such as patriotism and justice, which can attribute to “learning to be”, it’s believed that education in our perspectives would come out to be defective. In education course, educator must first educate himself, and students will not only learn knowledge from books, but recognize what force they have when apply them; improve their ability, develop healthy personality. Education should be the tool or measurement to motivate progress of society. However, how to evaluate the effectiveness of education as a baffling problem that no one finds an easy way to work at it today. It is really that just as what the author asserts that education will be truly effective only when it is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student?
The effectiveness of education is to achieve its ultimate goal as an attempt to speed up social progress and promote the all-round development of humanity. That is to say that education should do its “change or alter” function. Hence, theoretically the effectiveness of education depends on that what education exert itself for society and human, that means that how many those educated people contribute they can and how much knowledge they apply to develop ways to utilize the materials and forces of the nature foe the benefit of mankind and society and how society and people change because of education, etc. Just as Francis Bacon’ words about study as an example: Bacon said that Studies serve for delight, for ornament, and for ability. Their chief use for delight is in private and retiring; for ornament, is in discourse; and for ability, is in the judgment and disposition of business. Histories make men wise; poets witty; the mathematics subtle; natural philosophy deep; moral grave; logic and rhetoric able to contend. Crafty men contemn studies, simple men admire them, and wise men use them; for they teach not their own use; but that is wisdom without them, and above them, won by observation. In this passage, Bacon points out the objectives of study (for delight, for ornament, for ability), those changes after study (make men wise, witty, subtle, deep, grave, able to contend) and effectiveness of study (for they teach not their own use, but that is wisdom without men, above them ,won by observation). Consequently, we may conclude that education could be effective only when it does its function fully.
On the other hand, the recipients of education are important factors. Here I still make Bacon’ words as an example. Bacon mentioned that Crafty men contemn studies, simple men admire them, and wise men use them; for they teach not their own use; but that is wisdom without them, and above them, won by observation. I strongly agree with these words that only application will demonstrate the importance or influence of education. Certainly, changes of the recipients themselves are of equal importance. Learning capacity and skills, mental ability etc of the recipients all are key factors for education
To sum up, education will be truly effective when it exerts out function and the recipients comprehend and apply it fully. What the author asserts that to design to meet the individual needs and interests of each student is nothing but one method to pass on knowledge or skill and does not reflect education’ effectiveness entirely.

个人认为稍有缺憾的是应该在第三段或者另加一短说明一下教育有效性和满不满足学生兴趣有何关系,这将会更为完美。

There is a heat discussion about whether specifically designed education which meets the individual needs and interests of each student is truly effective in our contemporary society. In my opinion, the negative effects should not be ignored while we focus on the advantages of this education style. What's more, more efforts are needed to make an education effective.



In the first place, specifically designed education is a twoside sword in the process of education. On the one hand, individuals will absorb knowledges more easily and comfortably in the education system which is designed according to their interests and their future needs. This specially designed education provides every isolated student with sufficient knowledges that they need while prevents students spending appended time on learning what is useless for them. On the other hand, we should not ignored the negative effects this kind of education brings about both to individuals and the students as a whole. For individuals, though this education can make them more effective in studying, it also makes them know less about other fields besides what they are provided to learn, and the individuals are in a unique and comfortable circumstance that they will not learn the basic skills, such as competition and cooperation, which are indispensable in their future life. For the students as a whole, this education makes the students isolated with each other which is not fit for today's survival rules. In a word, specifically designed education may be suitable to individuals while it has few benefits to others.



In the second place, even though the specifically designed education have some significant profits not only in cultivating individuals but also in enhancing with others, nowadays' circumstances have not prepared well enough to carry it out. Firstly, it is hard to design educations completely suitable for students since they do not insist on changeless interests. Secondly, our educational resources are not sufficient. For instance, the number of teachers is not enough in the situation that one teacher can teach several students in one classroom, let alone the situation that one meets one. Lastly, even if the two aspects discussed above are satisfied, it is hard to meet the different interests and needs corresponding to isolated individuals. If one teacher can help one student in his education, what will this teacher do after the graduation of this student since the next individual's interests are not the same as this one? So it is impossible to carry out this kind of education in our society.



In the last place, we should keep in mind that in order to make the education truly effective, the mass education and specifically designed  education must conduce to each other. On one hand, mass education utilize the educational resources more effectively in transmitting knowledges, which are consequential and essential in our daily life, to students. On the other hand, the completely designed education which focus on individual's interests can cultivate more elites and professionals for the developing of our society. Though it is hard to put this education into practice, we can use the essence of this system by providing students with more choices on what to learn. The curriculum which contains not only the compulsory courses but also some other courses chosen by students according to their own interests in university is an apt example to illustrate this. So only though the cooperation between the two kinds of education can we make the education effective.



To sum up, education is designed not only to satisfied interests of individuals but also to provide our society with sufficient and professional persons. So an effective education should use the mass education to equip individuals with basic knowledges while use the specifically designed education to enhance the unique abilities of individuals.

首先开头很混乱,和下文的联系想不强。
其次,文章写了两方面的内容,一个是教育的效率性是实现目的,另外一个就是学生对于教育的效率来说很重要。但是例子占了很大一部分,而且是重复的引用相同的话,
还有就是句子的结构很难懂,(可能我没看懂)
最后就是这篇文章好像是另起炉灶,根本没有和题目中关于个体的兴趣和需要有关系。我感觉这样写不太好,容易跑题。虽然I重在说明自己的观点。但是你应该由题目中隐含的问题来说明自己的观点。
个人愚见,请多指教。

Although I agree that interests is a crucial element in deciding one's success, the speaker overstates the comparative significance of education just meet the individual needs and interests.

We must admit that needs and interests plays a great role in deciding one's growing up. In any field, we can see the successful function the two factors effect. For example, Bill Gates had dropped out school in his young age, but no one would disavow the momentous contribution he made to the information eras with his interest in technology regardless of school's subjects. The sound pianist Langlang, also turn out for his supremely gifted in piano. He has great talents in piano and began a different learning process from other children at a young age. Interest is the best teacher, and there is a saying goes, "Necessity is the mother of invention."

Although I agree that education should focus on students' needs and interests, I insist that overall education is also crucial. In the first place, only emphasis one's needs and interests is unilateral. Overall education can help students grow up wholesomely. If they select their most interest courses, which may propel their initiative, but make their knowledge so limited in turn decrease the effective of education. In such technologic era, our society calls the need of generalists rather than specialists, because we face the difficulty of congregate various things together. Even famous physicist Newton was very proficient in math and moral. It indicates education should satisfy students’ needs and interests.

Furthermore, even claim that education should specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student, our educational system may lose the chance to find proper subjects for every student. Students, despite a few distinct, as well do not know what they are interested in. Interests in a great deal based on broad knowledge. Although the comprehension of individual needs and interests of each student can various, our educational resources are also very limited and different between diverse regions. So that will be inequality for these regions of the nation.

In sum, we may come to the conclusion that though education should designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each students, the overall education is necessary in order to guarantee the nation develop steadily and prosperously.

The speaker’s standpoint is about the truly effective education. And he asserts that the only way to achieve the goal is to meet the individual needs and interests of each student. However, I don’t quite agree with him. His point is biased and not comprehensive to some degree.

One thing I must admit is that interest and individual needs weigh much in the process of learning. Einstein has said: “the interest is best teacher”, for it provides the students continuous power and dynamic to keep making progress. And it is a human nature to be more dynamic when been placed as a center and highly appreciated. Thus so, if we pay more heeds to each student’s specific needs and try to realize them as much as possible within our reach, the potential of students will be released more compared with the current level. Moreover, the specific educational design for each individual has more value when we refer to students’ career life in the future. As the society is becoming more and more diversified, we have to meet the dramatically increasing demand for specialized professionals. Here we find reason for the customized education pattern, in higher education stage, not an assembly line to work out all the same standard products.

But if we dig more, we can find that the speaker’s viewpoint is biased and not always correct. This interest-oriented educational style is not only improper but also harmful in the primary stage of learning. When a child is exposed to the world for the first time, he is a completely in the dark. He need someone to guide him find the right path to adapt to the conventional value system of this world, to tell him right and wrong, brightness and darkness, as well as virtue and evil. He must have an overall outlook of his own personality, self-development and perception of the world around him. This is the purpose of elementary education, and we can’t deny that the most resource-saving way to achieve it is the well-conducted general education. Moreover, only when a person master a certain amount of knowledge about both the interior and exterior circumstances of his own, can he makes a wise choice of his interest-to-be. In this sense, interest is not the best guidance without a relatively mature value system and the ability of making independent judgment.

Moreover, the author must ignore the feasibility of this conception, for it is only applicable in some dreaming lands such as Utopia without arousing injustice and chaos. Everyone has his own design for life and therefore need different resources accordingly. In a country of highly dense population, like China and India, even though the overall quantity of educational resource is considerable, it is not less than satisfactory when comes to the amount per capita. Therefore, it is impossible to meet everyone’s need at today’s level, both socially and economically. Secondly, financial support is necessary in the process of promoting desired education. But what’s the consequence will be if well-off families afford the featured education for their children but it is not the same case of the families in need? There must be a wave of protest voices, not to mention the vicious circle in the long run, produced by this educational devise in a not fully developed world, when some kids get the chance to grasp more resources than their peers.

So back to our topic, whether the education is effective or not is judged by the value and benefit it will bring to every individual and the development of society in a longstanding perception. We also need to take all sides into consideration, including individual development of each student, characteristic of different stages, and universally workable principle among the public.

We must admit that needs and interests plays a great role in deciding one's growing up. In any field, we can see the successful function the two factors effect. For example, Bill Gates had dropped out (用过去时就好了, 过去完成是有比较性的.一般不用.)school in his young age, but no one would disavow the momentous contribution he made to the information eras with his interest in technology regardless of school's subjects. The sound pianist Langlang, also turns out for his supremely gifted in piano(这句话有点问题 supremely gifted piana skill比较好吧.后面要用名词短语). He has great talents in piano and begins a different learning process from other children at a young age. Interest is the best teacher, and there is a saying goes, "Necessity is the mother of invention."

Although I agree that education should focus on students' needs and interests, I insist that overall education is also crucial. In the first place, only emphasis(这是名词) on one's needs and interests is unilateral. Overall education can help students grow up wholesomely. If they select their most interest courses(the courses they interest most), which may propel their initiative, but make their knowledge so limited in turn decrease the effective(efficiency) of education. In such a technologic era, our society calls for the need of generalists rather than specialists, because we face the difficulty of congregate(congregating) various things together. Even famous physicist Newton was very proficient in math and moral. It indicates education should satisfy students’ needs and interests.

还是最后一句话. 这段要表达的意思不是说通识教育的重要性吗? 最后一句话怎么又拉回去了?

Furthermore, even claim(动词原形怎么单用啊? claiming) that education should specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student, our educational system may lose the chance to find proper subjects for every student. Students, despite a few distinct(distinction), do not know what they are interested in as well(as well 放在句末) . Interests in a great deal(放到句末吧)based on broad knowledge. Although the comprehension of individual needs and interests of each student can various, our educational resources are also very limited and different between diverse regions. So that will be inequality for these regions of the nation.

Looking back at the splendid and glorious history of our human beings, marveling at the greatness and beauties of our civilizations, we find that it is always the education that provides us endless impetus for the development of our society. In modern time, an increasing number of people begin to pay attention to our education and some propose that education would not be effective unless it is specially designed to meet individual needs and interests of each student. As for me, I agree statement since education would be more sufficient when it is combined with personal interests and needs, but I do not expect that the content and mode of education should be decided by an individual because of the goal of education is ought not to be ignored.

As we all know that the interest is the best teacher of an individual, interests play an extremely important role in the education of a student. A student who possessing great and marvelous interests of certain subject would devote much of his energy and time to the study of it and always be ready to overcome the ordeals and dilemmas in front, studying would be happiness and enjoyment. However, in contrast, those who have little interests in certain subjects would have no passion on them, they would possibly learn little knowledge and methods when being forced to study what they are fed up with, what’s more they may lose their interests in all subjects, even including other subjects that may inspire their genuine. Moreover, students who are taught with the contents that are well combined with their personalities would more likely to achieve success in such fields in the future. Student skilled at abstract thoughts should be taught more about mathematics, physics and so forth, others who show great talents on arts and performance are ought to receive more knowledge concerning music, literature, painting and so on. Only in this way can the talents of our students be took the most advantages of. Hence, designing the contents and knowledge to meet the individual interests and need is contributable to the efficiency increase of education.

However, what we should not ignore is that our education resources are limited, under current society, it is impossible to provide special designed education plan and action for every student. Firstly, the number of our teachers is not enough to teach every student according to his or her interests; secondly, the school is unable to offer enough special designed textbooks and classes that are built to meet the needs of everyone, thirdly, our society can not offer enough money under current productive level. Providing special designed education according to individual interests and needs is beyond our ability, both the ability of our teachers, schools and the society.

Moreover, some subjects must be taught regardless of the individual interests, as knowledge and principles involve in them lay the foundation of the everyone being the qualified citizen of our society and making sure that to the largest extent that the talents and skills of an individual would be used properly and do not harm the interests of others. Subjects such as mathematics and literature are necessary for everyone as aimple calculating and reading is basic skills that an individual depends to live in our modern society surrounded by numerous numbers and words. Similarly, subjects concerning morality and law should be compulsory ones, since they exert vital significant role in building students more likely to satisfy the needs of our society and make contributions to the advances in our civilization. In a word, certain subjects should be listed on the education plan of every student due to the needs of our society.

From what has been discussed above, it is safe for us to draw the conclusion that education specially designed to meet individual interests and needs would be more sufficient while it is also necessary for us to realize that our current society cannot provide such ideal education mode and certain basic subjects should be taught whatever the individual interests are.

Although I agree that being instructed with this specific teaching method, students could give full play to their own advantages, yet university should also urge students to hold some necessary abilities which can help them survive in society more at leisure. Thus the speaker overstate the affections of the specific education while omitting the function of the skills considered to be the commonsense that even affects one’s life.

Admittedly, In a particular situation, when meeting one’s special requirements, one can bring their genius of his interesting domain into full play. For that this kind of teaching addresses the student's individual differences and needs, and then makes use of some relative materials to arrange his instructional schedule, so that one can obtain resources according to his specific ability. Also in this way, the teaching might achieve subjective initiative, the student could try his best to study the domain he is clever at. When mentioning the culture of united state,
the most impressive aspect is the education. In some primary schools, when children first steps into the classroom, school will supply each student the individually planned and systematically monitored arrangement of teaching procedures, adapted equipment and materials and some inventions designed to help learners with special needs achieve a higher level of personal self-sufficiency and success in school. So in this situation, the education would be more effective, and could foster more intellectual students to serve his country.


However, in my point of view, that instructive method above can just be an ideal situation, the one studying in school should be cultivated some abilities to better adapt the challenging society, ultimately, own a more competitive skill to get a decent job. Since the world have developed more and more quickly, the higher and more ascendant position, the more competitive the one will encounter, so that the more comprehensive technology and knowledge he must absorb. Without an integrated consideration of the society and understanding of the knowledge all-sided, one would deal with something with narrow thoughts which might make the project less competitive, and even one could never communicate with the relative people, just like his stakeholder or leader. During the situation that the financial crisis from 2007 to 2009 is the worst since the one related to the Great Depression of the 1930s. People have lost their jobs, have their house sold or even have dissipated their fortune. This situation would so severe and challenging that acquire the one to own excellent technology and a more comprehensive information about this world to survive in this austere society.

In sum, if one could merge the professional knowledge with a perspective of overall situation to make them compatible, he would get a more descent job and then make a foundation for his official career. We should remember that the more integrated you would be, the better you could survive in this arduous committee.

As we all know ,when we study in the high ,all the students learn the same lessons ,but when we pass the college entrance examination , we study different subjects such as history , laws, electricity and so on .But honestily speaking , most students don’t have a right sense on the subjects which he fill in the paper before they enter the college. So the disparity between their images and the reality leads to most of the college students don’t have much interests on their subjects . However , they have no choice. Is that education should be truly effective only when it is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student? I think this statement is one-viewed .

Firstly, I think the education should not only be designed to meet the individual needs and interests of the students, but also should be designed to meet the requirements of the society. Only do both of this , it will be truly effective. As we all know , every student wants to get a good job which is also their parents’s desire to meet the requirements in their future life . So some subjects liking engineering , business are very popular . Due to the prospects for looking for a good job is not optimism , some subjects such as history, archaeology receive little attention .If just for meeting the individual needs and interests of each student , I think a lot of subjects in the college must be closed down . But the society needs the talented person who have the knowledge in history ,laws, literature and so on .We need money ,good future , better life , the society also needs to know its history ,its culture ,its bylaw.

Secondly, with existing conditions , wanting our education to meet the individual needs and interests of each student is not factual and I think to do this is not worthy. There are a thousand readers having a thousand Hamlet. Everyone is an independent entity. Everyone has his own interest , but the interests between us can’t be the same .We don’t have enough classrooms ,enough teachers, enough teaching facilities, enough time to provide different students who have different interests, so we have no method to set course to meet everyone. Meanwhile, although we provide enough things , there must be a lot of  students who don’t value or learn little at last or do things by halves , it is loss and waste.

The last but not the least, a lot of facts have proofed that we may not get a good result which we expect. Every year a lot of young students who are good at math or physics or chemical are treated differently. Best teachers ,best teaching facilities ,good accommodation and delicious food are provided to them . They are trained to take part in the Mathematical Olympiad Contest or other contests . Their teachers ,classmates ,parents give them high expectations . Hope them to get a good mark and be creative in the future . However , when they grow up , almost all of them are mediocrity. Why? These young students must have strong interest on the subject originally ,otherwise they can’t present their talents. But because of our thought to meet their individual needs and interests, we give them too high expectations ,too much pressure, too many work, their interests turn to tasks which they don’t want. Gradually, the interests disappear ,and disgusting and reverse psychology instead. Naturally, they can’t get achievements when they grow up .So this kind of education is not effective.

From the three paragraphs above ,I want to say that although the interest of the students in the subject is very important ,we should consider more. Only find the balance between the students and the society ,and take the right method ,the education can be effective.
