The speaker has presented an assertion with two aspects in front of us. One is to define the importance of children’s socialization to the development of our society. The other is about raising children. Though this dual assertion seems reasonable at first sight, but it fails to be convincible if more consideration is given. I can’t support it personally.

What must be acknowledged is that children’s development is closely connected with the destiny of society in the future, for the children are the masters in next decades. Their values, judgment and managing methods will be the dominating power to shape the circumstances we will live in. Concerning with the meaning of cooperative, contributive, competent and qualified, the term socialization is a basic requirement of a talented person to some extent. Therefore, how children are socialized today is vital and crucial to the society in the future. From one’s early years, he could know how to get along well with others, how to be the tolerant and popular one in a small group, how to win glory and honor to a collective and how to master skills and be competent to a certain post. These are what can be leant in one’s childhood and what is needed in one’s adulthood in society.

But children’s socialization is not the only factor to influence one’s personal development and the overall progress of the society. Certainly we can’t deny its importance, but we can’t ignore some other significant elements, such as religious belief, personal aspiration, and so on. A survey conducted by Professor FitzGerald in Trinity College Dublin once proved that not only many influential scientists such as Newton and Einstein, but also some pivotal figures in the political realm, including the former French President Charles de Gaulle and the former United Nations President Thomas Jefferson, all of them have syndromes of autism. They were opposite to school codes, clumsy in the social relationship, lack of eye contacts with people during communication and firm to their own belief or task even for tens of years. Their deficiency in socialization is not the stumbling block to limit their contribution and hinder the progress of the society. This somewhat mental isolation is not that vitally important in the further development.

As for the second part of this assertion, firstly I have a question. How can we define a better society? Can the author say that our modern society is better that the primitive society? In my opinion, there is actually no better society, but a society which is more suitable to the people live in that period of time and thus, the children will find ways to acclimatize themselves to their own society better. Many parents are worried that they have not yet learned how to raise children to better society, but actually, they have behaved properly and done all they can to achieve the best results. It has been testified in the previous decades that the children can be wealthy both materially and mentally and able to promote the quality of life and society as their wish. On one hand, we have done our best and the children don’t make us disappointed. On the other hand, once well guided, they need to struggle and find their own way to construct a society be characterized with their trend and fashion.

To sum up, children’s socialization is merely one factor among many others to decide the destiny of the future. And children will create their own way to shape the society of their own in the future, besides our proper guidance.

The speaker says the future of our society determined by how children are socialized today, and we have failed to raise them to better our society. I find the assertion to be specious. On one hand, other characters of children might be more essential than socialization. On the other hand, it is inappropriate to say we haven't learned how to raise our children.
At threshold, I concede that the socialization is important to our children. How a child is socialized might be a base for his or her development in the future. We live in the society which determines that it is inevitable to interact with other social members. Therefore, how to make good relationship with others is a basic skill to survive and develop. Indeed, our children must be taught to a certain degree.
Yet, I don't think socialization of children is the only determinant to the destiny of society. There are many other essential skills determines our children's success in the future. Look at famous persons in the history, their achievement decided by some other valuable characters, but not socialization. For example, Beethoven began to lose his hearing from very early years; however, he insisted on composing music and finally became one of the famous musicians. His success is not decided by socialization of his, but the strong conviction of his inner heart.
Einstein left school early, but he never stopped learning math and physics which he interested on and finally shocked the world by the theory of relativity. The most important determinant of his achievement is not his socialization, but his strong interests and his voracious appetite for knowledge. From what mentioned above, we can easily get a conclusion that socialization is not the only factor to children's success, and there are many other more essential determinants.
At last, it is inappropriate to say we haven't learned how to raise our children. No one can deny that our society is more civilized and advanced than ever before. The status of women has been improved. Any racism would be resisted. Fascism has less opportunity to appear. And the science and technology have more advanced than ever before. These are evidences to prove that our education is not ineffective at all.
In sum, although socialization of a child is important, it is not the only character to determine our children's future, let alone the destiny of our society. And it is also inappropriate to assert our education is ineffective, because our society nowadays do better than ever before.

Admittedly, people are never born into separated environment, while society will be their destiny to face and join no matter whether they like to, however, if we can give a good conduction to the children, we can avoid numerous tragedies from happening. At this point, I agree with the speaker. The chief reason why I agree with I agree with the statement is that our children are suffering more and more schoolwork pressure from the school and their parents. Children now are surrounding by books and test papers instead of the peers and friends, which make them lack of socialization and some even suffer Trist mania. On the other hand, there are much more shows on TV show about the violent and sensual soap operas than before to attract the adults without attending the influence on children. This is one of the reasons which lead the amount of crimes of teenagers to increase. The second reason why I agree with the statement is that many schools nowadays have overstated the importance of the rank, score and reward to inspire the children to achieve a more advanced level. Students are being so stuffed with an indigestible mass of material that he has no time to draw his own mind for analyzing and synthesizing, and evaluating the material. However, study shouldn’t be limited in rote and examinations. Social in middle children requires considerable social understanding and self-awareness, especially when conflict occurs. Older children can negotiate, bargain, cajole, compromise, and redirect conflict ----- such as through humor—in way that reflect developing psychological understanding and social maturity. Not all children are so successful, and some become rejected be peers because of their aggressive, confrontational behavior. Developmental researchers have found that peers rejected for aggressiveness are impulsive and deficient in social problems—solving skills, often misinterpreting casual social encounters as hostile and considering few alternatives to reacting confrontationally. They also develop negative reputations. A rejected child’s lack of acceptance can, unfortunately, foreshadow long-term social difficulties if these problems are reminded in childhoods. The third reason why I agree with the speaker is that more and more schools have been cutting down Physical Education in order to add time to other lessons like mathematics, physics and literature. However, we often neglect one truth: To witness healthy socialization in action, one should heed look no further than the school playground, where our children lean to negotiate, cooperate and assert themselves in a respective manner, and where hey learn about the negative results of bulling and anti-social behavior. To sum up, the purpose of education is not only about the SAT or GPA score, but also the assistance which help children enter into the society, which can most possibly help us to achieve a better future of our societ.

My view to the issue is that children’s socialization today determines the destiny of society. We have tried our best to raise and educate them, however, our education system cannot provide perfect resource to make every child be socialized well nowadays. In addition, development of the education will finally make things better.

To begin with, how children are socialization today determines the destiny of society, we should take effort to educate them. One of the most important reasons is that they will grow into adults and be the majority of the society in the near future. They will fill every position and participate in all campaigns. Their decisions may determine the direction of the social development. And what happen to them will influence how they raise their children. Therefore, children’s socialization determines the destiny of society.

In progress of raising our children, education plays a significant role in the socialization of our children. Based on personal experience, I divide education into two parts: Formal Education (FE) and Informal Education (IE). The definition of FE can be those educations held in class, and others are called IE. IE includes that information from Internet or libraries, knowledge from our travels, gains from team works, experience from part time jobs and so on. Generally, children will spend most of their childhood in schools no matter they are good students. Even some of them may discontinue their studying, they must accept IE. For example, they may learn computer skills from their bosses collaborate with their friends and gain knowledge of laws from internet. So, education almost accompanies everyone in the whole life, don’t mention childhood.

However, educational system has never been good enough to make every children become an excellent adult. There are several reasons. The first, educational resources are insufficient. For example, even in America, the resources cannot meet every child’s need. Usually, many schools face the problems like lacking of classrooms, books, computers and labs. Things are worse in some districts of China, India and South Africa. Without enough resources, many children’s educational opportunities are damaged. The second, since FE is set for most children, they cannot match every student’s interest, genius and need. For example, some student may be a genius in mathematics and she finishes reading calculus before she enters high school. However, she has to spend time on preparing the examinations of elementary algebra. This may be a waste of time for her. Finally, unlike FE, we cannot regulate IE. For example, we can not delete violent videos completely. These films may influence children adversely. Therefore, based on these reasons, we can conclude that there are some defects in our educational system nowadays.

Actually, the development of education will make things better, although we can not solve these problems completely. Unlike 20 years ago, we now have multimedia equipments, modern labs and training centers, internet and so on. These resources no doubt increase the efficiency of education. For example, many universities, like MIT, provide online lectures and opening courses. This will help more students receive advanced education. On the other hand, there are required courses and elective ones in most schools. Those who have gift in some special aspects may choose these courses. So, as education developing, we expect that more children can be raised in better educational conditions.

To sum up, how children are socialization determines the density of society. Although there are some defects, the development of education will finally socialize our children better.

It’s tempting to agree with the speaker’s assertion that how children are socialized today determines the destiny of society. However, I don’t think it is all-inclusive. There are many other ingredients contributing to the destiny of society. Meanwhile, the speaker extends the assertion to an extreme point that we are losers in raising children who can help bring about a better society.

In Adam Smith’s age, people pursuit individual profits while ignoring others’ interests just to fulfill every company’s maximized profits. However, in modern times, it is necessary to consider the group and others’ situations, and merely no longer pursuit personal interests, according to John Nash’s theory. In fact, the John Nash’s theory is just a mirror of modern society. When we refer to many situations, from common communication even to international interaction, we always call for powerful teamwork. Because children are considered as leading roles, there is no doubt that the socialization of children plays an important and decidable role today and even in future. Therefore, according to one of aims of education involves serving society, it is our responsibility to focus on the situations about socialization of children.

However, one thing I have to admit is that we actually fail to guide children in cooperation effectively. As for the reasons, on the one hand, schools prefer logical learning to socialized learning. From most of leaders’ attitude of schools, the grade of students is only element which is used as a standard to weigh a school’s level. Thus they merely pursuit students’ capacities while ignoring the education about collaboration and interaction. On the other hand, it’s presents’ fault that they focus on respective child’s development. Rather than emphasizing the teamwork between children, they prefer to encourage their children to fight and beat other children. As result, children appear to be more ambitious than cooperative.

Having recognized that how children are socialized adhere to the destiny of society, by no means can we deny that socialization is not the only power to spur the advance of society. Many other necessary elements turn out to contribute a better society, such as the personality and creativity, and more important, strong conviction and belief. Children should not learn to obey the whole society. Martine Luther King, rather than following the trend involves the discrimination to the black men, called for a myriad of people fight for their normal rights.  Gandhi, rather than obeying the society governed by English colonists, stood up to lead people struggle for their freedom. Abram Lincoln, rather than going with the stream of slaver owners and south governors, enacted the Emancipation Proclamation. Similarly, they did not obey the socialization at their times, but presented reasonable minds and did just actions. As a result, they succeed and indeed bring a advanced society by their creativity, their persistence and fortitude.

Based on above, it’s safe to say that education involves socialization of children is important in their future life for society. Meanwhile, a better society also attributes many other elements, such as the education involves personality, creativity and belief. Furthermore, we admit that we have some kidding attitude and actions in raising children, but the fact and history show that we still run at a way to the better society and we have already learnt something about how to raise the salt of the society.

As the advances of our technology, our society productivity has been increasing rapidly since the last two or three century, and has been providing more and more commodities, most of the citizen of our society do not worry about their current material supples as a result, they pay more attention to their children and their development--the future of our society. Concerning this some people propose that the destiny our society is determined by how our children socialized today, but we have not yet learned how to raise our children who can help bringing about a better society. as for me, I disagree with this statement as the glorious and splendid history our human beings is against it, nevertheless, it must be admitted that the importance of how our children are socialized should never be ignored.

there is no denying that how our children socialized are of vital importance for the destiny of our society, since the children's socialization determines the way children think, behave and the goal they pursue when they become adults. for instance, were a child live in a violent surroundings where problems are usually solved by violence instead of harmony and peaceful method, it would be clearly that in the future, in face of the problems he would resort to violence instead of other legitimate methods. Similarly, a child who lives among people who behave rudely and place a low value on the others' thoughts and beliefs, would be likely to behave in a hateful way and fail to embrace the precious virtues such as the tolerance of others' ideas and values. The environment does truly exert significant and great influence on children's manners, values and beliefs in their future, therefore, children's socialization deserves our attention.

However, the destiny of our society is not just decided by the socialization of our children, even not by children. By no means should we ignore that it is our adults that who play the dominating role of our globe, including our society. There are numerous examples could prove this idea, for instance, the wars that destroy the civilization and lives of our human beings and bring endless pain and loss to the globe are started by adults, policies exerting far reaching impacts on the development our society are made by our adults, great and unbelievable fortune of the society are made by our adults, and the intellectual marrow is generalized by adults, all of which determine not only the present of our society but also our future. Thus, overrating the importance of the children's effects on the destiny of the society while understating the dominating position of adults would delay the development of our society and tend to inform the adults to be blind to their responsibility of our civilization.

The second statement also fails to get supports from the history of our human beings. With the effects we have made and are still making, our society is truly becoming more and more harmony, safe, free and democratic. With the advancement of medical care, we live longer and fatal diseases in the past have been cured by modern medicine; economic and industrial development provides more and more bigger houses, advanced transport tools and much more commodities we never imagine ever before; technology inventions have made our live more colorful and emancipated us from the laborious and boring work, all of which should be attributed to the people who are well socialized when they are little children. In short, the better society we embrace now demonstrates the well and successful socialization of our children.

From what has been discussed above, we may safely draw the conclusion that the speaker obviously overrated the importance of socialization of children and his negative attitude towards how the children are socialized also fails the realistic supports.

When we growing up, our society will be dominated by those who are children right now. So it is true that children are the future of our society. In order to make our society more wonderful in the future, it is our responsibilities to afford our children with good environments for their growing up. However, the destiny of our society is based on the children themselves.



In the first place, there is no denying the fact that children are the future of our society. It is natural that children will ultimately get the dominant occupations of our society just as we supersede our predecessors. After realizing this point, we know that how we raise our children will influence the future of our society. How can a child with anger, discontent and anti-social idea provide benefits to our society? Just look at our contemporary society, it is built on the foundation of our good socialization such as cooperation, equal competition and helping others and so on when we were children. So the better socialization will lead our society to a better level.



In the second place, what we can do for the development of our children is to provide them with proper circumstances and impart our experience about how to deal with problems to them. On the one hand, the great conditions is good for children's growing up. A harmonious family gives children the importance of kinship and friendship. A good education equips our children with not only the basic knowledge but also the survival shills such as cooperation, hard working and so forth. On the other hand, the experiences we accumulated during the processes we solved problems are precious for our children. These experiences can not only help them settle down the similar problems but also afford them the methods for solving other problems. Such as the means we are using to tackle the green house effect-global collaboration-which can also be utilized for solving other serious problems that we human would encounter in the future. In short, we should do all what we can to help children grow up to be an effective adult.



However, though we have some effects to the cultivation of our children, it is children themselves who determine our society's future. A child who can do nothing without the help of adults would never become a real man, let alone to contribute to our society. What's more, with the development of our society, the environments will keep changing all the time. Just as we must face the threat of AIDS and atomic weapons and work out solutions to address them, our children would encounter some problems that do not exit in our contemporary society. So the children must learn how to deal with those new situations or problems that are totally different. Without this ability, they will not be able to control the direction of the society, which will eventually lead our society to a catastrophe. All in all, learning to accommodate to the new situation and growing up on their own is extremely important to our society.



From what have been discussed above, we can draw a conclusion that children are indeed the future of our society. And what we can do is to afford efficient help for their developing no matter the circumstances they need or the experience we can give. However, the most important part is that children must learn to adapt to the new society and handle it by themselves. Only though this can our society have a bright future.

Comparing to our past lives, we can definitely acknowledge that our world is becoming more and more harmonious and stable in general. All these appears due to generation to generation. Thus, in my point of view, I disagree with speaker on the assertion that we didn’t have the right way to raise our children who can bring a better society. Furthermore, the destiny of our society is certainly depends on several aspects, children socialization is surely not the only factor which would determines it.
        The fact that no one can deny is: our methods to raise and educate children are changing and adapting to current society constantly. Several years ago, few people have rights to study in University; gender bias is obviously serious in education domain; the way of teaching at that time seems dull and inefficiency. Through years’ development, more and more students have access to the institutions of higher learning and receiving more training; girls will not worry about discrimination and prejudice anymore; the bilingual education, the distance teaching through network and other ways of teaching method lead our way of raising children varied and colorful. Throughout the development of our society, thanks to our ways of raising children, human beings are suffering a more and more better lives for the reason of efforts done from generation to generation. Clothes, food, house, traveling are changing fast. New technology brings our lives beyond our imagination. We can seek the universal, we can discover unknown microorganism, we can heal rare diseases and we can enjoy lots of entertainments right now. Moreover, many old social problems are disappearing: racial and ethnic inequality, gender inequality, poverty and so on. Even though some new problems have been found in our progress such as pollution and drugs, in general, our society is becoming better through people’s hard working, indeed.
        Admittedly, our world is forwarding and the destiny of our society seems bright. But, does the socialization of children today can determine the destiny of our society? Obviously, this is a one-sided view. The wheel of human society forwards depends on mass aspects such as science; culture, environment and it is a big integration while socialization just means to convert people to adapt social culture, to take part in social lives, to perform social obligations, in a word, to let people become “normal”. However, in today’s circumstance, while intelligence quotient becomes more important for the reason that it connected to the achievement, or rather, to productivity directly, communication, cooperation and other emotional aspects associated with socialization were ignored in raising children sometimes. Although these humanistic concepts won’t lead immediately economics benefits and progresses, they have a significant impact in social development. People are social animals and they cannot be separated from groups, meanwhile, socialization is an important link between one and crowd. Therefore, whether children are well socialized or not is still an important signal to determine the destiny of our society.
        To put all nuts into a shell, we can find out that the society is definitely in progressing due to human beings’ struggle from one generation to another. On balance, despite the fruit we have already picked, we still have a long way to go and our children must receive a more scientific, comprehensive education.

As an indispensable parts of modern society,increasing people pay attention to the important role that children act in society,the author think that it is the children's socilization that determines the destiny of society and the author believe people still not know how to teach children to bring a better society meanwhile.The author's opinion may seem true at the first glance,but when we view it in depth,we can find that there are some  limitations exist in this point of view.
First,the author hold the view that the destiny of society depended on how children are socialized ,it is safe to say socilization of children effects today's society in many fields.According to a famous professor in the harvord university,''the socialization of a child could help he or she to recognize what the society seems like and then master the skills to survive in society and finally promote the development of society''.when children become socialized,they will master the foudation skills such negotiation or business competition which could help them hold correct attitudes towards society and then influence the destint of society.If a child don't know what is society,how to survive in society and how to develop the society,obviously that this child cannot accliniate to the fast development of modern society and become a victim of the social competiton and then bring to society lots of adverse impacts.
However,under no circumstance could we believe that the sociazation of children decide the destiny of society ,because as the famous scientist shannon said,"one thing could not determine the success or failure of an entirety'',there are many other character of child impact the society,such as the education level of a child,we could not deny that children who accepted advanced education could help the develop of society than those who just recieved elementary education,moveover,the personal quality of children also influence the destiny of society.Thus,the socialization of children is just one factor effect the destiny of our society but not the only one.
The author also believe that we have not master how to educate children so that they don't know how to bring about a better society.We must understand the definition of 'better society' at the begining,in my opinion,there are no fixed explanations about'better society',educators may define better society as everyone received Tertiary Education,psychologists believe that better society means that all people have good mental health,etc.So each individuals have different point towards the ideal of better society,in other words,we could not use single perspective to judge the opinion that whether we have learned how to raise children who can help bring about a better society or not.
We have to admit that there are some shortcomings of modern education,but I personally believe that these shortcomings are pygmies alongside it advantages' giants,compare with formal education ,we have already get a big progress in imparting children how to develop society,take ancient chiese education system for example,in ancient china,schools and parents only teach children how to resolve problem such as mathmatics or physics,nor there were a place could impart child how to view society and how to develop it .In the contrast,nowadays,more and more parents and teachers begin to tell children the society around them and what could these children to do in order to help the development of society,furthermore,many college have already set the sociology as a major and more and more people devote themselves to this field,that is to say ,we have already have the ablitity to help children hold a ture opinion of society and it is obvious that we could teach children how to develop a better society.
My conclusion is ,therefore,neither the author correctly awared the relationship between children's socialization and the destiny of society,nor does the author comprehensive consider the role of modern education in helping children develop a better society.

As an indispensable parts of modern society,increasing people pay attention to the important role that children act in society,the author think that it is the children's socilization that determines the destiny of society and the author believe people still not know how to teach children to bring a better society meanwhile.The author's opinion may seem true at the first glance,but when we view it in depth,we can find that there are some  limitations exist in this point of view.

First,the author hold the view that the destiny of society depended on how children are socialized ,it is safe to say socilization of children effects today's society in many fields.According to a famous professor in the harvord university,''the socialization of a child could help he or she to recognize what the society seems like and then master the skills to survive in society and finally promote the development of society''.when children become socialized,they will master the foudation skills such negotiation or business competition which could help them hold correct attitudes towards society and then influence the destint of society.If a child don't know what is society,how to survive in society and how to develop the society,obviously that this child cannot accliniate to the fast development of modern society and become a victim of the social competiton and then bring to society lots of adverse impacts.

However,under no circumstance could we believe that the sociazation of children decide the destiny of society ,because as the famous scientist shannon said,"one thing could not determine the success or failure of an entirety'',there are many other character of child impact the society,such as the education level of a child,we could not deny that children who accepted advanced education could help the develop of society than those who just recieved elementary education,moveover,the personal quality of children also influence the destiny of society.Thus,the socialization of children is just one factor effect the destiny of our society but not the only one.
The author also believe that we have not master how to educate children so that they don't know how to bring about a better society.We must understand the definition of 'better society' at the begining,in my opinion,there are no fixed explanations about'better society',educators may define better society as everyone received Tertiary Education,psychologists believe that better society means that all people have good mental health,etc.So each individuals have different point towards the ideal of better society,in other words,we could not use single perspective to judge the opinion that whether we have learned how to raise children who can help bring about a better society or not.
