提纲：

2、2、“人生重要的事情就是确定一个伟大的目标，并决心实现它。”—歌德。人类之所以能取得巨大的进步，几乎都基于对自己目标的坚持不懈，以托马斯爱迪生发明电灯为例，经历过无数次的失败后终于取得了突破，
3、然而，正确的目标和正确的方式是我们需要的。首先我们要知道一个目标是否值得是因人而异的。为什么许多违法的行为存在于社会，其中很大一个因素便是由于他们只关心自己的利益。例如一个邪教的领袖，在他自己看来许多人的自我牺牲，是对神的敬畏，而这对于社会又是多么大的冲击。
4、3、同时，你需要学会思考，在追求自己目标时需要不断反思自己的方式是否正确。在学习上有种通病：一为学生花费了数月，每天都用8小时以上的时间复习接下来的考试，而另一位则每天只花了6小时或者更短的时间来复习，两者成绩却是后者高于前者，当然其中可能包含了许多其他的因素，而更重要的就是前者是否选择对了正确的方式，因此一个正确的方式使我们能用更短时间获得更高的效率。

It is commonly accepted by more and more people that we should spare no efforts to turn out our goals reality whatever means taken to attain it. However, this view is now being questioned by a large number of people.

Granted, Goethe, a German poet and dramatist, once said: “the important thing in life is to have a great aim, and the determination to attain it.” It is because our human’s will that have made our modern society drastically changed. Thomas Alva Edison was an American inventor who developed devices that greatly influenced around the world, including the phonograph and a long lasting light bulb due to thousands of times fails. Many people in modern society tend to living under an illusion conclusion that, along with more stressful and less leisurely in their life, their goals are too far away to reach. But they seem to fail to take into account the basic fact that failure teaches success, no pain and no gain.

It is not necessary a bad thing that take any means to attain a person’s goal, however, it depends on individual, especially a person’s need is away from modern society. Therefore, for instance, should we consider it worthy that a cult leader persuades his cults to sacrifice themselves? Should we consider it worthy that have to destroy all cars and trains because of air pollution? Should we consider it worthy that have to kill everyone who is contracted a serious illness because a clear environment?

Moreover, reflection is needs along with a goal. In the realm of education, here is an example, there are two groups of students with the same level in their study, one group students take 8hours a day on study compared with 6hours on the other students who reflected themselves each day, several days later, there is a text on what they have learned, but to everyone’s surprise, the group whose students spend 6hours on their study is as the same score as the other group. Although there must be various of facts impact on their score, reflection is still one of the most important aspects. As a matter of fact, it is justifiable for people to find a proper mean in the pursuit of their goals.

To reiterate, the way to a person’s goal is full of thorns and failure, if you wish to succeed, you should use persistence as your good friends, experience as your reference, prudence as your brother and hope as your sentry.

（1）要合理选择合适自己的有效的方法。（2）选择的手段一定要合法，不能不择手段。

作者可以参考一下。另外，我觉得你邪教的那个例子，也可以用在论述“不择手段”上面，比如法轮功，李洪志为了发财不惜欺骗老百姓，居然骗他们自残自焚等等，进而对社会造成了巨大影响和严重后果。这也算一个为达目的不择手段的例子。
另外，我觉得作者很多句子写的不错，语言比较有张力。
