The stability of a society depends on how it responds to the extremes of human behaviors.
It is true that how a society copes with the extremes of human behavior largely determines the society’s stability. Because it is known to all that human behavior is a crucial element of social development and it is part of public activities. Hence, a reaction that a society holds to the extremes of human behavior is always an indirect standard of social stability.

The extremes of human behavior--such as violence or strikes--usually dictate grave social troubles. In many instances, history indicates that people took up their weapons and shields to subvert their ruler, for they have been deprived of rights or profits that they had deserved. At this time, the governor or we may call them the power holder’s response to this kind of social problem makes a difference. Whatever measures they take, there is only one purpose that is, to relief an excessive situation and to defend a stable and peaceful environment. For example, the American Civil War that burst out about 150 years ago, it is, to some extent, considered as an anti-divisional warfare. Abraham Lincoln, the president of the U.S of that time, commanded his Union Army to suppress this internal disorder, no matter how much it cost. All he wanted to do is to keep the states united, this precious legacy that 44 presidents had strived for and bestowed.

One solution to these social problems is suppression, which proves effective in the short run yet counterproductive in the long run. Suppression is usually exerted by military force. And the military, to the nation, is the most influential weapon to resist the spread of turbulence; to keep social upheaval from going worse and, of course, to protect people’s lives and properties from the threats of any enemies. In the short run, military force will effectively and immediately destroy main targets and centers where resistance breaks out. For example, about 20 years ago when the Soviet Union had just broken apart, Chechnya, one of the former Soviet Federal Republics, wanted to take advantage of this opportunity to subvert the domination of the Russian Government. However, President Boris Yeltsin took immediate action regarding Chechnya’s betrayal. He sent troops to secure local safety and calm down this turbulence. Meanwhile, in the long run, military suppression may leave a threatening influence on the future. Some activists, at least, will bury their attempts and return to being common people. But this will plant a devil’s seed for the future. No bleeding, no war but peace is an expected and harmonious consequence that we are seeking in the future.

Although military suppression can remedy an unstable situation, from my viewpoint, the most effective way of responding to such problems is constructive communication and sometimes compromise. Definitely, using military solutions will pull out roots of chaotic disorders and wipe out some major factors that direct these turbulent activities. However, these saboteurs can be deprived of everything but their mind will never give in, because of the very unfairness, or weakness that they find in any institution or that situation that affected these people severely. These situations drove them to protest against laws and regulations. From another perspective, if a governor can satisfy this kind of person, they will return to normal life spontaneously. So, an essential compromise is one of the key strategies for quieting down a storm, because we, the people, are the host of any nation. And a nation’s task is to provide a comfortable and peaceful environment for its citizens. In brief, government should meet the people’s demands as much as they are able.

Therefore, civilians shouldn’t be made into victims during any turbulence. Government is also supposed to take up the responsibility. If anyone who has been bestowed with the trust from the public cannot solve the problems of the common people in the first place, anyone is unwilling to promote him or her. Thus, how a society responds to the extremes of human behaviors determines its stability.

4、同主题写作时会规定参与的版友按照一定的回贴顺序进行互改；
5、坐等别人来拍，由于习作量很大，这种概率很小，所以效率也很低，建议不要采用。
