In the reading passage, the writer provides three mutual exclusive theories to explain how Chaco structures were used. However, in the lecture, the professor indicates that none of these theories were convincing.

To begin with, one theory in the reading passage believes that the Chaco structures were residential, but the professor argues that although Chaco houses' outside resemble to the well-known "apartment buildings" , their inside contain few fire places, which cannot support hundreds of families. Hence, the primary function of the house couldn't be residential.

A second theory in the passage suggests that the function of the Chaco structures was food storage, especially the storage of grain maize. However, the professor illuminate that excavation of the big houses have not uncover many traces of maize or maize containers. Consequently, this theory is unsupported by evidences.

Finally, a third theory, based on many broken pots found in a mound close to one Chaco house, proposes that the Chaco houses were used for ritual. In contrast, the professor cites that there are many other materials found in the mound besides the broken pots, such building materials as sand, stone and construction stools. This suggests that the mound is just the trash heap of the construction materials and not great evident that great house were used for ritual.

Collectively, the content in the reading passage were disputed by the lecture and the professor cast doubt on the view made in the reading passage.
Just do it!

In the reading passage, the writer provides three mutual exclusive theories to explain how Chaco structures were used. However, in the lecture, the professor indicates that none of these theories were convincing.

To begin with, one theory in the reading passage believes that the Chaco structures were residential, but the professor argues that although Chaco houses' outside resemble to the well-known "apartment buildings" , their inside contain few(just a few) fire places, which cannot support hundreds of families.(额,这里有个细节是最大的一个房子里只有五处烧饭的地方的例子,最好还是写出来,更加让人信服) Hence, the primary function of the house couldn't be residential.

(The)second theory in the passage suggests that the function of the Chaco structures was food storage, especially the storage of grain maize. However, the professor illuminate(illuminates) that excavation of the big houses have not uncover(uncovered) many traces of maize or maize containers(你可以把听力一字不差的写下来,很牛啊,我不知道这样ETS让不让,反正我是做不到的,只能写个听力的大致意思).

Collectively, the content in the reading passage were disputed by the lecture and the professor cast doubt on the view made in the reading passage.(这句话的and前后不是一个意思么?)
总之,这篇作文写得不错,结构和内容都ok,GOOD,继续加油啊~
