MS的生统电话面试更新P3 23楼，背景在P4（最后没有杯具）

刚收到一个教授的信，说要电话跟我谈谈读书的plan。我回信告诉了电话号码，没想到一分钟后他就回信说现在可以打给我或者明天，我只好说那还是明天吧。我该如何准备呀。。。。早知道不这么急着回信了:L
我以前生物专业的，转专业读生统，没有背景，申的是硕士，大家说说这种情况一般问什么呀？BTW，学校是布朗。

一般面试谈不了太深的，大概就是resume和ps上面的问题，
而且也可以问他关于他的研究课题之类的。

那天说要面的结果没打电话过来，刚才我打给他了，他说一会再打给我（但现在还没收到电话），说要问我数学基础。。。他大概提了一下，微积分，线性代数，统计概率上课学了什么，我该怎么办呀，这么多年都没怎么用过数学，而且那些term我也不会用英文讲呀:L 我觉得我马上要杯具了，大家说我该怎么办

我以前自己做的几门课的syllabus，有些名词表达，看能不能帮上你

1.Mathematical Analysis(A)Ⅰ: Limit of function and series, Continuity of function, One variable differential calculus (derivative, differential, differential mean-value theorems, Taylor Formula)

2.Mathematical Analysis(A)Ⅱ: One variable integral calculus (indefinite integral, the fundamental theorem of calculus, integral mean-value theorems, the sufficient and necessary conditions for integrability, improper integrals), Number series, Function sequence and series, Power series, Fourier series.

3.Mathematical Analysis(A) Ⅲ: The theorems of the completeness of real numbers (Cauchy convergence theorem, nested intervals theorem, Weierstrass cluster point theorem, Heine-Borel finite covering theorem, supremum principle, bounded monotonic series theorem, and the proofs of their equivalence), Multivariable calculus (implicit function theorem, the  integral with parameters, Gauss/Stokes Formula and field theory, introduction to the calculus on manifolds)

4.Linear AlgebraⅠ: Operations of determinant, Linear equations, Matrix theories, Linear space and linear transformation.

5.Linear AlgebraⅡ: Bilinear function and quadratic form (Matrix congruence), Canonical forms of matrices and space decomposition (Jordan form, Matrix similarity, Cayley-Hamilton theorem, cyclic decomposition theorem), Euclidean space and unitary space, Orthogonal and symplectic geometric space, Introduction to tensor product.

6.Probability Theory: Event and probability, Random variable and distribution function, Numerical characteristic and characteristic function, Limit theory (Helly theorems, inverse limit theorem, central limit theorems, the laws of large numbers).

7.Stochastic Processes: Poisson processes, Markov processes, Stationary processes, Random walk, Brownian motion, Introduction to stochastic calculus.

你还有多久面？关键不是时间来不及了么。。。
从里面找出你最熟悉最基础的概念，就忽悠他跟他说你学过，他不至于让你解释概念吧。。。

也不用太担心，可能他会引导着你说，你能听懂他说什么就差不多了

all the things you said are pretty much covered in advanced calculus in my school... so I guess it's like an equivalent course to advanced calculus...
finally...I learn some analysis....>_<
