Issue No.208 "The way people look, dress, and act reveals their attitudes and interests. You can tell much about a society's ideas and values by observing the appearance and behavior of its people." 人们的眼神、穿着和动作都揭示了他们的态度和兴趣。你可以透过观察一个社会中人们的外貌和举止来认识该社会的理念和价值观。(以小见大)  

  Eye is the window of the mind; people’s behavior is the mirror of the society. The way we look, dress and act always betrayed our truly attitudes and taste. The exterior behavior is not always representing the whole idea of a man or society. Consequently, to some extent, I agree with the speaker’s assertion that we can know a society’s ideas through the appearance and behavior of its people.
  First of all, the expression in one’s eyes, the clothes one dress and the behavior one act, always reveal their attitudes and interests. T-shirt and jeans means simple and vivid, suit and leather shoes means formal and serious. Eyes always express our truly thought from mind, such as greedy, self-confidence, outrage or honesty, which is the reason that when people talks they often look at each other’s eyes. Human’s behavior is the direct express of the ideas. We can find one dainty and carefulness with the delicate clothes and well combed hair. After all, we always judge the people we meet by the appearance and acts of them.
   In addition, every social group always has their particular character: dressing, Accessories, attitude, etc. Islamic women always wear the clothes only exposing their eyes outside. Unusual dressing, smoke-eye make-up and the rock music are always the symbol of punk. Monotony grey or blue working-suit reveals the China’s 1960s personal identity pressing, while the various dressing of people walking on the street tells us today’s China encourage the individual character development and creation. Anyway, we can easily distinguish the difference between societies and could find a society’s idea by observing the appearance and behavior of its people.
  On the other hand, only observing the exterior character can not understand the whole ideas of one society sometimes. Firstly, some behavior may superficial; the true thought could hide below the appearance. Japan, for instance, the most polite country in the world, but has a strong desire of invade. Secondly, we may fool by our own eyes, in some ways, and we have a subjective opinion affect the truth we observed. We may thought a man, who is a famous person, is fashioned with the casual dressing while it just because he has no time to dress up fine this morning.
  Further more, some backgrounds may change the people’s behavior of a society. Some behavior we could not understand or even misapprehend may caused by some history factors. Firecrackers, the Chinese traditional stuff during the spring festival, hardly the foreigners know why the Chinese set off firecrackers during the festivals, which is originally to scary the monsters away which then becomes a way to celebrate. Another fact must be considered in is that today’s society is increasingly globalized. The above words of this two paragraphs shows us that only observe the appearance of a society’s people, we may misunderstood the society’s idea.
   All in all, the speaker’s assertion that we can understand the people’s attitudes and interests by the way they look, dress, and act ,and know a society’s people by observing their dressing and behavior is not all thing considered. We can truly understand a person by get terms with him. To understand a society’s idea well is better to combine the environment, history and traditional factors with the appearance and acts.

We can truly understand a person by get terms with him. To understand a society’s idea well is better to combine the environment, history and traditional factors with the appearance and acts.

Good work , I think this kinds of work is exactly what judge want to see in the exam , not too fancy , but thoroughly.
