As we review history, we can see how profoundly that science and technology have changed our life as well as society. With the rapid development of scientific research, some people argue that restrictions should be placed by the government while others hold the opposite view. With all due respect considered, I believe that we should make different conclusions on different topic.

Science is the paramount impetus of society development. Thanks to the scientific research and development, we could obtain better understanding about how the whole nature goes as it is, which in turn, helps us lead a better life via various technologies. The scientific research on space and astronautics realize human's dream of going into the outer space and performing experiments which are not feasible on earth. Acurate weather report and global positioning system are both examples of the benefits we get from the modern science and technology. Never could we enjoy these services if research on astronautics was ever restricted.

What's more, some basic issues in science, such as pure math, theoretic physics and chemistry, should not be restricted due to their fundamental and crucial position in the whole science. As often refered as the "King of Science", Math lies at the central heart of every science topic, without which all researches would lack of theoretic base and computational methods. In addtion, the research of Math usually goes far beyond modern technologies, in both sense of depth and width. Restrictions on math would undoutedly confine every research topic of Science. Similarly, Physics, widely concerned as the twin sister of Math, acts the role of discovering every unknows of human nature and attemping to explain these phenomena. For example, modern theoretic physics tend to find out the disipline of atomic movements, which deeply affected modern electronic engineering. We would not have televisions, computers and nearly every modern equipment if the research on physics has ever been confined.

However, there do exists the science topic that specific restrictions should be exerted, especially when these scientific research goes against the human morality or ethics. The famous controversy of cloning human provides the best example. The pure essence of scientifc research is to seek the truth of nature as well as for better human being. There is no denying that research should be restricted when it goes the opposite. An even remarkable example would be the research on nuclus. Nuclear resources provide human tremendous power while the atomic bomb gives devastating threat to human. Researches on these special issues will definitely be confined.

To sum up, scientific research provides the impulsion of the development of society and should never be restricted, especially on the basic theoretic research. However, on several special issues refering to the morality and ethics of human, research should be confined in a proper way.
